That we don't get *100%* always just seemed like common sense to me, scientifically. I mean, it is mixing with air, your mouth, lips are not a closed system, etc.

However, in the case of diacetyl, I don't even want 80% or 90% of whatever amount may be "in there." 0% would be a good number for me.

Yeah... Just like the Body doesn't Absorb 100% of the Oxygen in the Air, or the Nicotine / Flavoring in a hit, it stands to Reason that not all the Da/AP isn't going to be Absorbed.

None of this Seems like Rocket Science to me.

Test an e-liquid that you know has got Da/AP in it to get a ppm number.

Hook up an atty to a Fish Pump and pump out a 4 Second Hit into a Container. Let the vapor condense into liquid. Test for Da/AP ppm.

Hook up an atty to a Fish Pump and pump out a 4 Second Hit into a Vaper. Have Him/Her exhale into a Container. Let the vapor condense into liquid. Test for Da/AP ppm.

Compare:

ppm in e-liquid
ppm coming off off the atty
ppm coming out of the Vaper atty
Repeat with other e-Liquids / Vapers to make Mathematical Model.

Seems like something that could be done on just about any College Campus as a Semester Project.

That still wouldn't tell you how much is deposited in the mouth where you're tasting it, and how much makes it deep into the smaller passages of the lungs where it actually does damage, but it would be a start.

I have Consulted my Magic 8-Ball. And it predicted that someone has done similar Da/AP Testing already. And that we will become aware of it around the time that Deeming is Presented.

Eh, mine is basically $40k worth of resume padding... Since I decided not to pursue a career in counseling.
Same here.

I did a few stints in volunteer work after graduating.
And I eventually came to the conclusion that a career change was in order.

Computers always listen to you, and do what you tell them to.
Best of all, they don't talk back, and don't act illogically.

Computers are great, if I could just get rid of the "customer" portion of customer support :)

I did a couple years as a substitute teacher while planning for my masters in education counseling. That was enough to tell me there was no secure future as a school counselor.

Sub-ing can be Fun sometimes.

But other times it can be a Drag.

The subbing I didn't mind. What changed my mind was going back to my old high school and learning that they had lost one counselor, now 3, when the student population has increased by another 1,000. This was also during the time when teachers were getting pink slips every year, and then being told a month later if they would be returning the next year.

Education isn't valued enough to be considered stable employment, unfortunately.

I know some HIGHLY accredited educators who actually go through this process, annually, in the City of Detroit. Unreal. You would think they would be GRATEFUL to have dedicated professionals willing to serve there. But they do this, which means those teachers are free agents to look for better districts every year to find gainful employment. We desperately need a system to quantify the value of educators, and make sure we retain those who are advantageous to our districts to keep. It's ABSURD to lose these dedicated people, whose sole philosophy is to try to better a *ucked up system, and leave them wondering if they have gainful employment the coming school year.

I don't understand why the conversation about diacetyl, acetyl proprianol, and acetoins in ejuice always are being "compared" to cigarettes.

Most of us QUIT SMOKING for a reason.

People make the point that we didn't worry so much about all the chemicals in cigarettes, but now we worry about DK's. However, like you said we quit smoking for a reason. I knew bad stuff was going into my lungs when I smoked. I didn't have a choice about that. I was addicted. So worrying about the specific contents of the smoke I was inhaling was kind of pointless.

I had to take cigarettes as they came, it was all or nothing. With vaping I can control the ingredients. So paying attention to it has some value.

That's an excellent point, and not only the ingredients but the volume and temperature.

From the very start, the fact that whenever we find something wrong with vaping there is a way to fix the problem is what separates vaping from smoking.

Exactly and honestly anytime I see the hey you smoked so what to do care what you inhale now argument I figure it is coming from those who do not care what they inhale now.

I think the comparison with cigarettes is quite valid because for some vaping is keeping them off cigarettes by just a thread.

I agree with You in some Contexts of a the Vaping vs Smoking Comparisons. And Not in Others. If that makes Sense. LOL

I'm thinking about my co-woker whom I've known for just under two years. She was vaping when I met her and is still battling to make the switch complete. I don't know why she hasn't been able to switch and I can't relate to it at all but there's obviously something going on with her and if what she needs is certain flavors that may or may not contain the levels of DA and AP that some here balk at, then that's what she'll need. I'd hate to see that option taken from her.

I think it is willpower and a commitment to quit, which is missing, not diketone rich custards...
