you will definitely experience this from time to time - vaping won't fully replace smoking for you right away. You still need to be in the mindset that you're quitting smoking, and there will tough times while you adjust to vaping. If at all possible, suck it up and avoid analogs. As gthompson said, if you must, have a smoke when absolutely necessary. The good news is you've cut your smoking back from 40/day to 8 - that's a milestone you should be proud of. Let that be your incentive to keep trying. Good luck!

/\ What those 3 said...

It could be as simple as maybe yer atomizer needs cleaning. But there is a point in ones vaping IMO that many get to where it "just isn't quite there like it used to be". I don't think 36mg nic would be absolutely needed when 24mg with a better/improved delivery system can knock you on yer hind with 24mg, make sense?

I got to that point years ago when I started vaping and ended up going to a 6v mechanical unregulated mod with high resistance atomizers and I was in heaven. I have been on that same mod (prodigy V3) for 2 years and never thought it could be better.

Of course now I have a rebuildabe atomizer......it's even better. I also have a Provari showing up today......and it will be that much better.

I did the same thing when I started out. Every so often I had a real cig. Don't think you have to give it up totally at first. It really takes awhile for your tastebuds to get back to normal. As you continue on with vaping the craving for a cig gets much less- after about 3mos they taste like S#$t. I try a real one every so often to see but usually take 2 puffs and get rid of it. A lot has to do with the equip you are using-better equip= better results.

I did not pick up a PV and just stop smoking immediately. For about 3 months, I vaped AND smoked. Over that time, my cigarette consumption steadily decreased, but I did not force it. Since 03/04/12, I have had one actual cigarette and it was nasty. However, even now - over 5 months later, there are STILL moments that I want a cigarette so badly for a few moments/minutes. When those cravings hit, I just vape harder than normal and the craving goes away.

My primary method since March has been to use an eGo type battery with CE4 and Vision type clearomizers with multiple different flavors in various clearomizers and just swapping about between them. Eventually you will find what works best for you, too.

This..
I'm still back and forth. Some days analogs taste like absolute YUCK and I have a morning/bed one. Others days its more - usually because vapor flavors I have make me want to gag. Or I just enjoy an analog more that given day/time. However, I'm still down from 10-18 analogs day to 5 on a "bad" day. I find myself reaching for the PV more. And sometimes start an analog, get grossed out, throw it away and use the ego (I still count it for ones smoked though).

It's a process. I still feel confident about vaping, especially on days when I enjoy it.

Yep. It's been over a year since I quit and I still have those moments. Thankfully they're rarer and rarer now, and they go away very quickly.

+1 from me - I'm in the same boat. Buy yourself a 36mg liquid and have a cart ready to go for those moments. You didn't say what flavors you are vaping, but you may want to check into a WTA infused liquid for those moments (again at 36 mg). For myself, I'm using 36 mg for the daytime so don't be shy about the higher levels - It still beats the heck out of and is healthier than lighting up.

Try dripping and see if that makes a difference. When I began (many years ago) it was hard to get satisfaction from the e-cig, but then we discovered dripping. When that not satisfied feeling happens again, drip a couple drops directly into the atomizer and vape (you should be able to get 3 - 6 good vapes before you have to drip again). This is what saved me. I dripped for over 4 years, then I discovered the vivi nova, but will still drip maybe once a day.

A lot of us smoked and vaped for months before we quit smoking, some have said they did for as much as a year. So don't kick yourself you are doing great.

As someone else said they do make 36 mg juice, and there is also WTA juices some say helped them, so if you feel you need more, maybe one of those will help.

I took some of the hints on this thread and took my atty apart...gunked to the hilt! I put in a new one when I got home and it made all the difference.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions and kind words. The encouragement really helps a lot. Despite my atty troubles today I have smoked only 5 cigarettes today! :D Yay me!

As my wise lover says "count your successes cause you are the only one keeping count".
