The owner of my company is a KNOWN anti cigarrete guy. I had my SID out yesterday in our parts warehouse and didn't expect him to be there. (He's rarely on the property anymore) While I was pulling materials to do a tankless water heater install, I took a massive hit of Hurricane Mango Milkshake.... and there he was. When I exhaled, he scowled, then said, "That smells really good, do you do that in my trucks?" When I said yes, he went to my truck, and seemed surprised that the truck smelled like mangos, and my cinnamon mix. (Had a leak on my old pt2). We went into a conversation about vaping, and he is now considering buying starter kits for our employees that still smoke, in order to help the guys to kick the stinkies.

I'm a new vaper and am just getting into public vaping. I live in Los Angeles ,which is definitely NOT a smoking city, so I already come schooled on where and when, but I think vaping frees me up to be less cautious, in most instances. Remember I'm, or WAS, a California smoker so vaping is like being un-tied. I even discretely vaped in the Metro yesterday, I needed it. The more interesting point is that I return to school on Monday. The Campus has definite Smoking areas, which, if convenient I'll use, but generally they aren't convenient to anyones schedule so I'm gonna bust out and see what happens.
I feel very justified because I know it doesn't harm anyone and only annoys those people that almost anything will annoy anyway. Perhaps I can even spread the word, so to speak. You know how recent converts are!! LOL

Out on the street walking somewhere or driving, sure I'll vape openly. In doors, I'll only vape where I've previously checked that the powers that be are okay with it. I'll take the occasional steal hit in the back of a movie theater at times, if it is empty enough. The only place I've just openly vaped without giving a single thought to it is my little local punk club. They're the kind of place that was hit pretty hard by the smoking ban, and don't really care much. I'll still go hangout on the smoking patio between sets, but I've vaped openly inside in the middle of sets and such and no one even bats an eyelash.

I agree totally with that! I do the exact same thing at my job...hit it like a champ in the bathroom! I dont wanna go hang out in the "smoking" section, nor should I have to....I mean...I quit smoking, its not smoke, its vapor, and I really dont think I should have to be around it either. Its not completely understood or completely socially accepted in this area yet...but Im doing all I can to change that!!

I don't vape anywhere smoking is not allowed indoors. If the establishment says its ok, then vape away. Outdoors i only try to avoid it around children but i wont drink alcohol around kids either.

Its simple common courtesy and it might give the antis more ammo to use against the e-cig industry.

I went to a new (to me) archery club today and I was hitting my little Evod with a small ego, not stealthily, but subtly. As I was talking to the president of the club, he pulled out a big ole tank from a belt holster and got his vape on. I didn't get a chance to ask about his equipment, but I will next time. The wild fire-less fire is catching.

If you don't want to emit any vapor, take your drag and hold it in while you inhale a bit from your nose. Wait a moment and breath normally. So, inhale mouth, inhale nose, wait, breath. Just in case, you may not want to do a big exhale ;)

Good advice. Ill try that in the movies. There I said it. I sneak vape in theaters

Me and a coworker have been vaping in our office, there's about 6 of us in there and 1 smokes cigs occasionally but just bought a vape kit after seeing us, and pretty much the rest all dip. I do notice our office gets a smell from the vapor but it pretty much just smells like air freshener. So we discreetly vape at our desks and if people from other departments or the bosses come in we just don't do it in front of them. Only had a supervisor say something about it when someone was doing it with the office door open and didn't want us to look unprofessional. But then again half the people in the building dip and carry spit bottles and I feel like that is so much worse for image.

I think I am considerate. I would never vape anything strong smelling. But do I sneak a quick toot? And it is quite possible to stealth vape. I did while I was donating blood (I give two pints at a time and it takes a while) and I don't think anyone even noticed. The nurse didn't say anything. I do think you have to be considerate of others. I was when I smoked. Don't mean to upset anyone, just being me.

I am with Spydro, when entering a new establishment, My local casino for example I ask security if there is a problem and they have always told me no they do not mind. That being said I do not blow large clouds in the air, I hold for a few to let it dissipate. Gamestop has no problem but I do not do it in restaurants

I have at casual restaurants after asking the server first. I won't in high end restaurants (unless in the bar/lounge area after asking) or in movie theaters obviously but do sneak hits in the restroom. I think most peoples biggest issues w/ analogs are the toxins and smell to non smokers (both of which are not an issue w/ vaping). In Dallas at least lots of people vape in bars/restaurants I've seen its never an issue. Many just tell people its the equivalent of smoke effects in clubs, concerts, ect....simply water vapor which puts people at ease 99% of the time.

quick vape, hold it in as long as you can, put your shirt over your mouth and blow it down into your shirt, then try not to make any sudden movements haha

gets harder and harder when you're vaping a better device with vg juice and stuff though, definitely.

if i'm outside, it's fair game. inside i only vape in bars/people's homes who tell me it's okay/occasionally in a big supermarket/shopping center where i can kind of hide and stealth it out.

i also don't vape in front of children if i'm indoors just because i made that mistake once and the kid was so fascinated and thought it was "cool". and that's just kind of wrong.

I vape pretty much everywhere I go, though I tend to explain that I'm not smoking if someone asks. I also carry around V4Life business cards that fully explain what vaping is, if anyone is interested. That usually helps out a lot. I've never come across a person who had a problem with it, surprisingly. Most people are already aware of e-cigs.

I definitely don't vape while filling up the tank at the gas station (you never know). People have come up to me and told me they love the smell! How about that in contrast to analog cigarettes?

Peace,

-greyswindir.

I usually go out with the smokers as I did when I smoked. I have from time to time sneaked a puff in my office at work and no one is the wiser as they sure don't have the same bad smell as an analog does. Some people have looked at me oddly but most smokers are interested and have several questions about it. I have actually helped quite a few people switch to vaping.

Glad i found this thread, I am replying just so I can find it later, I wondered the same thing. I only do it in my home, and in my car, outside my home in the back yard where no one can see me, My neighbors know I never smoked and don't want them to think i smoke now, I mean its kinda hard to know if there is smoking or vaping and i am sure they know nothing about vaping. Sometimes I do it on my front porch at night if i am 99% sure no one can see me.

Out in public I leave my stuff in the car, but maybe i shouldn't, not sure if the heat affects anything, Took wife to walmart last week sat in car and had windows up vaping away got the car pretty cloudy, I thought to myself i wonder if they can see me on the cameras and are wondering what the heck I am smoking. My liquids all have a smell to them. I might do it in a bathroom or something, don't think I would ever do it in a store however.
