Anyone keep their Display Brightness above 3? Anyone have it burn out yet?

I just purchased and received a Ti Military 20 watt P3 and am having a little bit of difficulty seeing the display (I'm not complaining, I'm explaining) through the tinted glass at times. I can see it better when mobile on 4 or 5 Brightness setting. I am thinking of keeping it on 5 but have read it won't last as long the brighter we keep it.

Any experiences? Thanks!

Is the screen tinted more because it is the military edition? Are you supposed to use it as you crawl up the beach with a Kbar in your mouth?
How am I supposed to use it with a Kbar in my mouth?

Yes, it's tinted to reduce glare and reflection of light. I like it. It works. I need reading glasses for small print. It's not a problem if I hold it arm's length but is easier in the daylight the brighter it is.

I read the same thing, Gin and have the same problem on my Procyon Stealth. I opted to keep the brightness level at 3 and check the display in the shade or indoors. For me, it is not worth the risk of a burnout in the uncertain future, if you catch my drift.

Thanks. Yeah, I've been keeping it on 3, too.
