Today I stopped into a local McDonalds to get a shamrock shake and wait for a accident to be cleared. While standing in line a young kid about 12 or 13 notices my mod and says "that's a nice vape is that kind expensive ? " I said well yeah kinda...he and 3 of his friends all reach into bookbags and pull out vapes....I was shocked 2 were cheapie knockoffs with top wick clearos and he had a spinner with a protank mini.....I was speechless and it took a few seconds for me to say "I hope you are using 0 nic in those " they said yeah yeah and headed away from the counter. Now let me say I have never seen a local vape shop even in the flea market allow kids even inside.....I have no idea how these VERY young tween/teens could have bought these vapes. I have been disturbed ever since...I hve been repeating to myself I would rather have them vapeing than smoking...but I am unsettled just the same

I think it's pretty shocking too and very unsettling and my first urge is to say OMG where are the parents???? But honestly I started smoking when I was 15 and a whole lot of my friends that age did too soooo...

I dunno. I smoked for 29 years, did horrible damage to my body and wanted to quit many many times but I felt like a slave to cigarettes.

Kids are gonna find a way to do things they wanna do whether it's smoking or vaping or sex or drinking. I'm not saying that's an excuse to throw up our hands and say oh well but I sure wish I'd been vaping for the past 29 years instead of smoking.

When I bought my first ego setup, I saw a mother with her 2 older sons (mid teens) and she was buying them juice (0nic). I didn't think anything of it, but better than them sneaking cigs.
I started by smoking black n milds here and there when I was 16-17, vaping would have been so much better.
Either way it's better than smoking! And the parent can somewhat monitor it and most importantly the communication and honesty is there. Everyone is gonna do what they want, better to know educate, monitor and provide support at least to a point (vaping okay, hard drugs not okay). Otherwise you get the preachers kid syndrome.

I am shocked at their age too. But then, when I think about it, I started smoking at 11. Used to have to steal them from my parents and would never have been showing off in public. I did not start smoking in the open until I was 13. Still real young.

I do not know how I feel about this. Too young, but better than cigarettes? I really do not know. I just do know that this is not going to help keep vaping from being banned everywhere. But if it is not the kids it will be the thrill seekers blowing themselves up. Or something else.

Just too young. Parents probably do not have a clue. Mine didn't about my smoking for quite a while.

I think if I had more time and wasn't so shocked I would have started a conversation.....these boys were younger than my grandsons...By the time I recovered they were leaving the counter and my line was moving. After I ordered and looked around they were gone

Lol no doubt you were shocked . I just would really like to know what their answer would have been. Do they think it's cool and thats why or did they used to smoke, and how they got them. Dam kids , one never knows what their reasoning could be.

Tell me if I'm mistaken, but I seem to remember a big ruckus about some schools....somewhere.....giving out condoms because kids are going to do "it" anyway. Don't remember if it was strictly high school or included junior high too. If what I remember IS correct, the same reasoning would apply here......Actually, it could be used for adult beverages too.....um-m-m-m, then there's........

I see how this is disturbing, but I also keep in mind that at that age I was smoking. How on earth did I get them to even smoke? Some people just dont care and that is all it boils down to. I would rather they vape than smoke. I am not their parent so I dont think it is my place to lecture someone elses child.
