Well, even though I'd prefer my son vape rather than smoke (he's near the tween years) I would also be shocked to discover one in his possession. Fortunately all the places that sell vape stuff in my area are militant about not letting children buy certain products, which is why I got carded when I bought a disposable the other day (and I'm 42). the guy told me all the cashiers were required to card anyone under the age of 40 lol.

Kids will do what kids do, but they have to realize that this is the kind of stuff that will get stuff banned even if it is 0mg. Sure a lot of us started smoking young, but I think vapers have a much higher hill to climb to be accepted since we seem to already not be accepted as much as smokers. Ironic given the massive campaigning to end smoking...

Today I stopped into a local McDonalds to get a shamrock shake and wait for a accident to be cleared. While standing in line a young kid about 12 or 13 notices my mod and says "that's a nice vape is that kind expensive ? " I said well yeah kinda...he and 3 of his friends all reach into bookbags and pull out vapes....I was shocked 2 were cheapie knockoffs with top wick clearos and he had a spinner with a protank mini.....I was speechless and it took a few seconds for me to say "I hope you are using 0 nic in those " they said yeah yeah and headed away from the counter. Now let me say I have never seen a local vape shop even in the flea market allow kids even inside.....I have no idea how these VERY young tween/teens could have bought these vapes. I have been disturbed ever since...I hve been repeating to myself I would rather have them vapeing than smoking...but I am unsettled just the same

Would you have been equally shocked if they were all hanging out around the entrance smoking cigarettes? Of course not.....

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but a kid not smoking is a kid not smoking. If there ever is some evidence that teenage vaping leads to actual tobacco use, or that vaping is somehow dangerous, then I might have a serious issue.

But if MY teenager were going to do something to "rebel" I think Vaping would be at the top of my list of preferred vices.

I had the owner of a mall kiosk ask me what I thought about parents buying their 16-17 year old child a kit. He does not sell to those under 18 and cards everyone who looks under 30 he told me. But in this case the parents told him they were desperately trying to get their child off of analogs. Since he was actually selling the kit to an adult, he made the sale. I agreed with his decision and support the parents in their efforts to try and break their child's smoking habit.

Somehow, vapers in the wild always sounds like a bunch of guys with loin cloths and spears, but whatever. . . .

Don't forget cheapie knockoff with top coil clearos. I still happen to like top coils. Now I just need a loin cloth and spear.

To OP.

Kids are going to be kids.... Each parent is responsible for raising them. Let them do it how they wish. If vaping is not dangerous, whats the big deal?

I probably would be easier with vaping than with the close my wife and daughters come home with. I don't think the make shorts other than Daisy Dukes anymore. I always get Daddy this is the only thing they make. Dang hoochie momma shorts everywhere.

It's amazing how much perceptions changes in less than a generation. When I was in high school we had a smoking section for the students. 90% of the school was under the age of 18. The teacher's could smoke in their lounge. This was a public school. It's not like I'm some fossil either. This was the late 80's. Of course kids are going to vape. They are also going to drink, do drugs, get knocked up, send naked pictures to one another, etc.. Vaping may be one of the least harmful activities they do.

When I clicked on this I thought it was going to be like people of Walmart, weird while vaping. We still had a smoking section in my high school in 1992. My bus driver still smoked on the bus while driving and so did we if we sat in the front 3 seats. I guess that was the smoking section. I see here at my local kangaroo gas station that all their disposables and some cheapy rechargeables are on displays on the floor just sitting there waiting to be picked up by anyone. But in other convenience stores here they are put back with the cigarettes and can't be reached by customers. My 16 yr old son told me lots of the kids that he knows that smoke have been using the cheap disposable instead. So I guess thats better than smoking. How they buy them I would guess is the same way they all obtain dip... Everyone has an 18 yr old friend that takes your money and buys whatever for you. My son tries my 0mg flavors all the time. He has no interest in vaping, dipping, smoking or drinking really. But if I had to choose vaping would be the way to go.

Shows how much the ANTZ movement has made people forget recent history.

I remember travelling on a plane...AS AN ADULT....with a smoking section....on the plane.

Teenagers are vaping instead of smoking...oh the humanity.

Think teen TOBACCO use is what needs to be monitored. Until you prove to me that vaping is particularly harmful, I have no care how many teens "vape" as long as teenage cigarette and tobacco use continues to plummet.

Im not saying Im on their side, Im just saying this..

When did YOU ALL start smoking?

    Me?

    13.

Yeah true, it wasn't until 16 when I was buying my own packs all the time, but since the age of 13, cigs were in my life.

Kids is gonna do what kids is gonna do. The adults of our age smoked, so we wanted to smoke. Now adults vape, kids is gonna vape.

Luckily there is such a thing as zero nic they have the option of vaping.

But honestly, kids vaping should be NO MORE shocking than finding kids smoking. I imagine the reaction to finding a couple kids sharing a bog would be similar, if not a little less surprising.

Kids are going to smoke, do drugs and have sex, WAY earlier than an adult would think its ok. But you have to ask yourself, did you ask you parents if it was ok to smoke your first joint, or have sex the first time? Or did you just do it.

Yes, it is some what unsettling, but...I started smoking at 14, so I have to remind myself of that from time to time. Of course, at that time, I could buy cigarettes on the premise that they were for my parents, but all the same, I'm sure that for young people that want to vape-where's there's a will, there's a way, right?
I would also rather have them vaping than smoking...

Here is where I see this as a problem. Society has made cigarette smoking a bad thing and there are less kids smoking than in the past because of it.

The more society can make it a negative, then even less kids will start smoking at a young age. My kids are in their 20’s and they heard enough negative things about smoking that they never started.
    Good for them!

If kids start vaping at a young age, eventually they may get addicted to the nicotine. Let’s not try to fool ourselves into thinking they will only vape 0 MG
Once addicted to nicotine, it’s only a small leap to cigarettes to satisfy this addiction.

I would rather see a kid vape instead of smoke every day of the year, but if there was no vaping, some of them may never have tried nicotine at all.

The one thing I am noticing is the younger generation has taken to PV’s by the millions. When I say younger, I mean 20’s and 30’s. I am 50 and when I started vaping 3 ½ years ago, I was one of the younger ones. Vaping started out as a great way for 40-70 year olds to stop smoking and it was a beautiful thing. I tried everything to quit and couldn’t do it until I got my first eGo, atomizer and drip tip.

Now I see the younger generation taking over and getting into the higher voltages and sub ohm vaping and overall really taking this to another level.
Teens will want to emulate the older ones which is why we see teens with PVs.
I don’t know how to stop this and not sure I want this stopped, just my opinion.
