this diver i have is working good but not wicking 100%. gotta do some dry pulls here and there to feed some juice. this is with the supplied coil. any tips on getting it to feed better?

What I initially noticed with my Divers, is that when I filled the tank to capacity with e-juice, the Diver did not wick as efficiently. As such, I fill my tanks between 1/2 to 4/5 full of juice and have had no wicking issues.

ok i will try that. thanks

The Diver has been performing excellent for me in an OCD standard 35mm long x 22mm from IBTanked.P

Andy, good lookin out on the IBTanked. It's solid. Just wish it was made for flanged cartos. Hate the gap.

Hey, shurehand. Yeah, I like OCD's IBT tanks, as I have 7 of them. As such, I very much dislike the big gap, as well.

The good news is that I ordered an Atmistique Scuba tank, which should minimize the gap when fitted with a Diver.

Serial70,
Cracking ceramics is pretty much what I have been finding with my 30ga Kanthal So I'm going to try some 32gafrom the vendor that eratikmind (many thanks!) posted. I may order some more spare ceramics because I KNOW that others will break. I can feel it.

In any case, here are the eBay links

32 gauge Kanthal (100ft spool, $5.79)

32 gauge Ni200 (100ft spool, $8.60)

In case anyone is having trouble - I made a horrible hungover diver rebuild video - First time doing any building on camera so cut me some slack (quite a bit of cussing - earmuffs for the kids)

Diver Rebuildable Atomizer Rebuild - YouTube

but seriously when you arent hungover I wanna see the twist you do to join the R/NR...When I first started I tried twisting like that but it never semed to come out right and fit in the cup.

I would have done that this morning but I just used my last inches of Silver wire. I'm getting 100ft tomorrow so when I do my Terminator/Ithaka rebuild I'll go through all the methods of joining wires.

Rio Grande sells some interesting silver .999 tube wire, but it will only fit wire gauges of 14 gauge. I imagine one could plug in 32g Kanthal and crimp the silver tube to attach, but it would be nice to have a more glove-like fit. I might order some along with the metric crapton of 999 silver wire and see if I can make it work as an EZ-mode NR wire.

And for those who may have read my previous posts stating I'm not ready to go R/NR just yet, I'm a guy, I lie, especially to myself, sue me.

THAT was a great video. you may be one of the grumpiest hungover .......s i've ever seen lol, but you did take the time you'd normally be recovering to make a video, not to mention destroying a perfectly good coil, just to show us how to build our own damn coils, so for that, i thank you. what kind of juice is that you're using-you said it's awesome... just curious.

also, why use non resistance wire at all? is it necessary? sorry if that's a dumb question, but i am brand new to the rba world. i just got my diver and stuck it into a phiniac tank, and it's fantastic. i want to build coils a bit higher in resistance, because i want to use it on a vv device like the provari or maybe even in my billet box, so i'm going for 2.5-3 ohms. again, i know nothing of rba's, but i know it's possible... still learning, you know? i didn't even trim the silica on the pre built coil that came with the diver-i just stuck it all in the tube. somehow, it still worked... i guess i got lucky. right now, i'm using it on a sigelei 19... or 20, i forget. it's working GREAT. i did take it apart and trim it properly, after finding out i was supposed to.
thanks again for the video.

Hahah glad you enjoyed the video comrade -

In regards to the use of NR wire, well - NR wire doesn't heat up. Thus, when you wrap coils for GG products or Divers, you can measure the resistance of the coil you want to use and run exactly that length across the wick. I've run several setups very successfully without the use of NR wire but it heats up a bit more slowly and your resistance will run higher in the end. Realize, this is because you're essentially continuing to run a heated coil past where the wick and wire meet thus losing some of the heat that would have otherwise gone to the wick in the air and the ceramic base.

Hope that helps --

It actually... Holy crap, that actually makes sense! What about wrapping higher ohm coils? Is this doable? Like I said, I would like to use the Diver with a non mech and possibly even my Billet Box. And is that ready made wire with the non res wire welded on it available anywhere? Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to get this right.
