I think this is adorable, and with an old mens tie
It would make a cute pv pouch for the guys,

has a little sewing, but you could probably do with fabric glue (or in a pinch a stapler, covering with some seam tape or other trim glued on)
Think I'll stop at goodwill or the thrift shop while I'm out today..........Happy Crafting

Ooooh, I could do that with the ties that I can't use for work anymore! I have lots of pretty colors too! Gonna have to try that one! 
Okay, so I want to try something I have never done before and this seems like a good place for advice.
I'm a huge fan of high top converses, so I bought a pair in optic white. These are going to be my "glass slippers."
Essentially I want to cover these puppies in crystals/rhinestones. I'm thinking of just using a strong glue, tweezers and patience, because I'm worried what a hot-fix would do to the rubber on the shoe.
Thoughts?

Good question, I'd do a little experimenting with some of the crystals and different adhesives on a scrap of fabric.
With some of the pv cases I've done, some adhesives have reacted differently say clouding the backing of the stone, so that's also something to keep in mind. I'm also wondering about fabric glue, maybe worth a shot, HTH
Also wanted to add, that a damp q-tip does fast work of picking up the stones

Start with a line or out line on your sneakers..see how the glue does. Hot glue shouldn't bother the rubber at all. But try it on a old pair as a tester. You could always just use an old pair of sneakers to test on.
One of my cousins messaged me on facebook today saying that all of us grandkids should take an ornament to my grandparents in memory of them giving us ornaments, and that it would be a good idea for it to represent a memory. I don't really remember them giving us ornaments, but my memory isn't that great lol.
My thought was to make one, but I'm looking for ideas for it. I remember some kids selling some when I was a kid that were beautiful, glass ornaments with iridescent strips inside and sequins outside. I was also thinking that I could make one from my polymer clay, but I'm a little lost lol.
Any ideas?

I couldn't locate quickly the one she did where she took a photo and inserted it into one of those, I remember thinking that would make a great family gift.
I think she made a template of the circle, the size of the ornament, then printed out a family photo on some acetate, cut it out, then rolled it up and slipped it down into the ornament. I'll keep looking.............

You can get the clear ornaments in 4/6 pks at Michaels (they usually post sales/coupons, so check their website) also Pat Catans and the like pretty inexpensively

that is a great idea Vchick! especially since it could be used for dressing up my mint box mod (i carry my key sets on carabiners - that too would work nicely)
Regarding my crystal cons, here's my work so far.
I'm worried if I do the whole thing it'll be blinding. Thoughts?
