I'm fortunate in that I really like my menthol vapes. My first mix was a menthol, peppermint, spearmint that was a hit from the start. It got me off buying juice right away. Then I tried adding 8% Sweet Tangerine (Cap) to it and another success!

My first and only fruit flavor was a success too and is in my ADV collection. It's a variation of the sample recipe that I got with JuiceCalculator. I substituted Blueberry Extra for Blueberry Wild and DX Sweet Cream for what they specified and it's 22% flavor. I may end up cutting that back to 18% just to see because it's such a full flavor.

I would pick up an istick 100w(will give you long battery life and room to grow),around 30$ on sale, the innolin Isub tanks are 10$ on sale and the heads(get the .5 ohm) are cheap, great subtank for the money......then I would start with the advice here to vape un flavored and Slooooowly add flavor then nic to get your feet wet.....don't feel like you've failed if you use store bought juice as a supplement, in fact id recommend it...........be patient and you'll look back down the road and be glad you did

Thanks alot BackDoc! I was thinking of buying Itaste MVP 3.0 Pro with Kanger Subtank Mini. What do you think about that combination?

Like @sparkky1 said, you should go at least 50/50. I started at 70/30 pg/vg because that's what my favorite commercial juice was and I was trying to copy it. I just couldn't take that much pg, made me cough.

Download that sample file and try Tigers Blood. Peaches and Cream looks really good too and I'll be trying it when my new supplies show up next week.

Don't listen to a vape shop when they say something won't fire on your device, all they know is the sub-ohm craze. For testing juice, make a 1.5 ohm (or higher) single coil in an RDA. Look online for an iGo-L, probably less than 10 bucks. It will make a great test atty...

You are right brotha! I have 28g Kanthal so I can rebuild it and make it fire. Shoot me a website if you have any where they have good quality one. Thanks.

From the same place you got the program. I guess it's his google drive that he shares and keeps it updated.

@sparkky1 , totally agree. I've only been DIY'in since 9/20 and I've tried all my flavors on their own in a 510 dripping atty with a 7mg 20/80 base just to see how they tasted. Gave me a good idea what would/wouldn't go well together. Now, after just a month, I've got 3 recipes that I like and keep on hand all the time...

Wait when I add sample file and pick for example Tiger blood I only see Strawberry Ripe as single flavor no other flavors there.

My bad Im ......ed. All I needed is to scroll down to see other flavors. :D

I went yesterday to local vape shop to buy RDA but they told me it wont fire on my mod which is only 20W.
I am not VG or PG intolerant so I tend to make 40PG/60VG mix it gives me good vapor and TH.
I am kind of struggling to make just single fruit ejuice. No matter what I try it never taste good. Sometimes its harsh and chemically so I say ok its too much of flavor. Then I make one with less flavor % and it comes out with no flavor at all.
I was trying to learn it step by step and explore all my flavors alone before I start mixing recipes but .... I cant even start and make a simple good tasting ejuice. :(

A suggestion Concentrated Flavoring - Brands - FlavourArt - Bull City Vapor
You tell your boy's down at the B & M you would like to vape on an RDA to test flavors at home and could you please teach me / show me how to build a 1.5 ohm micro coil and maybe a couple extra to go with it and offer to pay them for the coils.
Start off @ 6 watts then ease it up if need be, 20 should be more than enough ! if they don't grab the rda and i'll show you !
Your going to need a bag of organic cotton balls from CVS / Walgreens ............

Oh my freaking God! So I bought Tridend RDA and Igo W RDA. I builded up 1.6 ohm micro coil with 28g Kanthal.
Coil is not touching anything and resistance doesnt jump which means there is no shorting.
It tastes like crap! I putted organic cooked cotton. Fail
Then I tried Japanese organic cotton. Fail!
It tastes like burnt something and smells like soap. I cant even vape from RDA and I wanted to improve my DIY. What the hell is wrong with my RDA?
It tastes so burnt.

That cant be, you have to be doing something wrong...

What are you using to fire the RDA's? A build like what you are describing should be fired at +/- 9 watts (or 3.9 - 4.0 volts). 28ga is a little thick for higher ohms, ramp up time is slow. If you're "cranking" the watts/volts to get it to fire faster you will burn the cotton. For higher ohm builds I usually use 29 - 30 ga wire.

I have never "boiled" my cotton before use and it works just fine. Is it possible that is the issue?

Please don't take this the wrong way but... With the long string of fails, maybe we should look at your technique.

Idk what is going on. My juice is not good and now even RDA. I was thinking RDA should be an easy one. I even fired the coil before I put cotton just to make sure it fires from inside out. First it didnt and resistance was jumping then I used tweezers and squeeze it a little and it came out at 1.6 omh not jumping fires from inside out. Then I put too much cotton and 10 drops of juice. That was bad so I cleaned it and made it with less wick and couple of drops of juice. Neither way worked. First the flavor is too strong like pure aroma but covered with a lot of burnt taste. It doesnt even produce enough of vapor

I didn't read the from the beginning but if this is about tanks and hardware and not mixing skills just pretend you didn't see this at all .

Good luck

You're not putting enough juice on the coil/wick. Soak that puppy up!

Cotton should be snug, but able to slide back and forth without bunching up. The air hole should line up with the coil. The height of the coil off the deck should also line up with the air hole. What about when you put store bought juice on the wick? Does that work?

You never said what you are using to power the RDA.

Yes it is about DIY which sucks. I didnt make not even one juice that taste good. They smell ok when you open the bottle but when you vape it its far off. I even bought RDA to try to get that taste so I can improve my DIY but now even I have an issue with the RDA and flavor. I read alot and follow and try to improve myself but no matter what I do its not good at the end.

I use 20W mod and I just make single micro coil so I can fire it. I put the cotton though the coil but I didnt put the cotton everywhere on the bottom of the RDA just where the coil is.

The cotton should fall down to the deck, that's how it picks up the juice. Look in some of the coil build forums here to get an idea of how much cotton to use. If all you do is put a few drops on the cotton, it will burn that off quickly.

20watt mod? What do you have it set at? As I said, that build needs lower power. If all you have is 28ga Kanthol, try building a coil at 1.3-1.4 ohms. It will heat up faster and you can run that at higher power levels. If it's an iStick 20, they are known to run "hotter" due to their PWM signal. If that's the mod, run it even lower.

No matter what, the RDA should still taste good with commercially mixed juice, did you try that yet?

You want it to wrap under the coil as well. I have been using rayon so long it is hard to get down with cotton lol. Someone else will have to chime in on cotton wicking.

How does a store bought taste on the rda?

My first three months were mostly fails and buying the wrong flavors. Then mixing stuff that seemed like it would be tasty but was just TERRIBLE. Finally I got one figured out and now I can mix most anything. What is funny is I don't like many of the flavors I mix. But others love them.

No I didnt try vendos juice on it. And the coil is too high and too small so since I have to put the cotton through the coil Im not gonna be able to make it stay on the bottom completely. It does touch the deck but just with the ends.
And my mod is not Istick its one I bought from Avail Vapor store. Its their made. They call it Squirt.

Well i changed things up a bit recently and decided to stop just trying to come up with what i think will be good and find a few recipes that i know are excellent and get great ratings from a lot of people .

I have quite a few i have found around the net and took notes on . I was about to heave everything out the window and just go bowling but i gave it one last try , they actually turned out very good which is just mind boggling to me .

If you want me to send you a few let me know and let me know what kind of stuff you like.
