I just started two fresh 10ml bottles of Hangsen TE Desert Ship and one bottle of Hangsen TE Turkish Blend and they are in the ultrasonic cleaner now.

Did some things different...first thing is I switched to Now brand VG from Humco and I can already tell from sampling that the Now is less sweet and more neutral flavored.

Also I actually measured the flavoring rather than using drops. I went with 10% flavor, so I added 1ml of the Hangsen tobacco Essence to 9ml of prepared nicotine base rather than starting with 10ml of base and adding drops....the color is already darker so I think I was way off in my mixing before.

Finally I turned the temperature way down on the ultrasonic cleaner. Last time I was doing a cigar extract at the same time and I had the temperature cranked way up not thinking about what that might do to my e-juice. So now it's set for about 100° rather than 170°+. That could make a big difference maybe.

I think I'll get better results. At worst I'll have better baseline data for future changes.

I am using the Hangsen essence at 10%. It is working for me since I am using T-3 clearomizers. It might change when I get my pro-tank in. Which is nothing more than a glorified shiny glass T-3. Equipment is another factor in the DIY mixing challenge. :)

The reason I want to try to stick it out with the Hangsen Tobacco Essence is that it has real tobacco extract of some kind in it.

I was buying Desert Ship e-juice locally until they ran out. It was stuffed away in their "misc. Tobacco" section and I seemed to be the only one buying it and because of that it had steeped on their shelf for many months. For a long time I just assumed it was Dekang, but after buying several different bottles online I'm sure it was Hangsen, and it had the best rich smokey tobacco presence on exhale I've ever experienced in a vape , far better than the dozen or so NET juices I've tried.

I figure it had to be because of the Tobacco Essence and the extremely long steep times so that's why I jumped on the ultrasonic cleaner thing and why I'll probably get the mini mixer and I'm already thinking about a hobby paint shaker....I have to find a way to recreate that glorious Turkish tobacco exhale on demand! :)

I don't know if it will speed up steeping to not but a wine aerator might help. I got my mom one for Xmas, she likes red wines and they say it helps eliminate the "breathe" time it needs. If the nic or flavoring needs to oxidize this could help speed it up as it puts more liquid in contact with air as you pour it through. This is the first link I found to it, might find a better deal if you look around.

Interesting! I've been thinking about aeration....I was thinking more along the lines of an aquarium pump and some hose with some type of small nozzle or airstone, but maybe the wine thing would be better. What does it do? I mean...how does it operate?

This got me thinking, so I went and pulled a bottle out if the ultrasonic cleaner while it was running and sure enough, it's loaded with tiny bubbles....looks almost like a carbonated drink. I already give the bottles a shake every once in a while so I'll just add the step of removing the caps and giving the bottles a few light squeezes for air exchange. It had to be promoting aeration.

Thanks for the links! I'll check out the wine aerator more too!
