I got this in the mail today.
tobacco Express Captain and Benson.
Fruit Express Oates
FA Cappuccino

They all smell pretty good. I made a batch of everything but the Oates (ran out of clean bottles) and will probably try them tomorrow.

Note on steeping...

I have a little mini mixer that I use after I make up a fresh batch. The mixing blade can fit through the opening of my 15 and 30 ml bottles but I could still mix it in a small stainless cup that I have if I wanted too. Anyway, If im making more than 10 ml and using more than one flavor I will do the following,

Drop flavors first
Hold bottle under hot tap water for a few minutes
Mix
Add nic base
Hot bath (5 min)
Mix
Hot bath (30 min)
Mix/Blend one more time and leave the top off overnight.

I usually let the new bacth sit over night but its fine after a couple of hours if I get impatient. To me this is the equivelent of about 3 weeks steeping time and the following day the juice (regardless of what it is) will be what you would be hoping for from a long steeping process. Most of what I mix is close to a 100% VG although I will go 50/50 on some stuff. The heat/blending/VG is what eliminates the long steeping time, even if your using tobacco extract or tobacco absolute (I use them quite often).

I'm real curious about the oats...as in oatmeal cookies? Let us know how you like it?

Another thing... a chemist told me that steeping of any kind should always be done with the top on. Leaving the top off allows the aroma/flavor molecules to escape into the air, essentially wasting what you paid for. You can get the same result by using less flavor.

I have been using Jimi D's method as explained in post #7 in the thread he referred to above. It's all my Hubby vapes. I use Kahlua flavored coffee. I mix it at around 10% and add EM. He loves it! I have been making this for him for nearly a year. It's reasonably carto friendly as well.

Thanks, Jimi!!

So it is okay to use "flavored" coffees then, correct?

One other question. I remember reading someplace that when VG reaches a certain temperature, it turns into something toxic, I forget exactly what and at what temperature. I suppose I can go look it up, but first was wondering if anyone knew what the temp was and if that is why we aren't supposed to boil it, because if so, that might be good to emphasize. Some people might just think: well they simmer it, but I'll boil it, it's faster, ya know?

Exactly on the steeping. I never believed that uncapped method to be true. I just didn't want to be vaping dust as well.:D

I'm curious how the FA custard tastes...I think I'm the only DIY'er who doesn't like Capella's Vanilla Custard.

Yes Charlie, it's fine to use flavored coffees. In fact, flavored coffees are usually made by adding the same type of flavorings we use, to absorb into the coffee beans.
I'm not a Capella fan. My Wife on the other hand thinks that the Cinnamon Swirl is the bees knees. I will vape the FA Custard as a standalone, and report back.

I'm going to mix up the Oates tonight and see what its like. I've actually been looking for cereal type flavor but cant seem to find it anywhere. I agree with you about the cap thing but theres a couple of exceptions and probably more of a personal preference. When I heat a new batch there is some pressure built up inside the bottle that needs to release. I usually cap it when it cools. If i'm using alchohol based concentrates and there relatively fresh then I actually make it a point to leave the cap off for a little while. I cant stand that alchohol/perfumy taste. Otherwise I agree completely, it makes sense that you could lose flavor.

Yes you can use flavored coffees. The last one I made was hazelnut creme and it was very good. You don't want to over heat VG. You can do a reduction with VG for stronger extractions though. You put whatever your trying to extract into a glass container with VG. Put the glass of VG into a large pot of water (keep the water level even or slightly below the VG). Bring the water close to boiling and keep it there. The more of a reduction you get the more potent your extract will be. The only reduction i've done was for tobacco extract that I made.

Yeah I am pretty sure that is what they use just can't figure out the rest I know there is a nutty taste on exhale but not sure if it is walnut or what it is thought it might be mixed nut but I have that and I can't duplicate it
Maybe they add a touch of pistachio. Just a guess.

Now if anyone has the FA Cappuccino. 8 drops is amazing.

Just tried the FA cappucciano and it's really really good. Everytime I try something recommended by someone in this thread it has been great. What works good with it?

The TE Captain and Benson are pretty good too, i've tried both of them as well. The TE cherry cigar and FE oates both smell great but not going to mess with them until tomorrow. I can't quite place the smell of the oates yet but it seems interesting.

I love the Cappuccino as a standalone flavor. I think this coffee flavor is a work of art, so I don't add anything else to it.

I didn't like the Captain and haven't tried the Benson. Thinking of trying some FA flavors. I've only ever tried 4 of them I think. Lime Tahiti and Lemon Sicily I've been using a long time. Peppermint and menthol more recently.

I used 4 drops per 5ml for the Benson and I like it, it seems like a good stand alone. I went 4 drops per 5 ml with the Captain and it seemed pretty weak. I added two more drops of Captain and one drop of SM Captain Black and I like it. Not sure how much the SM Captain Black helped because i've never used it before. The TE Cherry Cigar is nice. It's smooth and has a good balance wuth the cherry. I don't like it as much as I do some of the others but im glad that I got it. Gonna try the Oates here in a few min.

Do you mix the Lime Tahiti and Lemon Silicy together? I have the Lemon Silicy but havent tried it yet.
