Yep - "burned" is a good word...it was incredibly bitter. It's better now, not great, but better (still tinkering). I'm getting the hang of adding mint to something else - I've discovered that I'm not huge on big mint in my face, like it a little more subtle. I have made 2 that I like, but they are not my own recipes. If its any comfort the tobaccos tend to be trickier than the flavors you like. Do keep us posted and we are here if you need it. We have all been there---my first week with DIY was basically disaster as I liked two out of 20 flavors at the time. Hopefully you aren't as picky as me. With the fruits and mints I am sure you will do great in no time. Alot of people dive in head first and others like to sample each flavor first to get a good feel for it what it does on its own and the proper percentage. Like you're coffee for example...lol Bet that percentage is burned for all eternity in your mind.
When you get perfume or soap instead of flavor, does that mean the amount of flavoring is too much, or is it too little? Or does it depend on what flavoring you are using? Example: for some fruits it may mean that you have added too much, and for some beverage flavors you have added too little? Just wondering if there is a rule of thumb that I haven't read about yet.
