So there's probably already some threads about these but I can't find them. I'm going to start making my own juice in a couple days and I was wondering what the best setup would be for taste testing them. I know cartos/tanks isn't the way to go. So I've been looking into different atomizers specifically Cisco LR306 but I haven't done any direct dripping so I'm not sure what I need exactly. Is it necessary to have a debridged one? I've heard a drip shield is really good to have but don't really know which one I would need and which drip tips work with them, etc, etc. Basically kinda lost and don't want to ruin a bunch of cartos. If anyone could share their method for taste testing home made juices it would be greatly appreciated. Or just any feedback regarding direct dripping in general. :)

I used to test with a 510-t, since i had a bunch left from my 510-t kit
Then i started testing with a ego-c tank
I recently purchased some "dripomizers" from libertyflights and been using these now to test, very easy to use and test
Also i am testing new flavors on this

When I am testing a new flavor i just add 4 drops of 0mg PG in the dripomizer, and vape it through, so the taste of the previous is gone

Yeah, there is a difference. Some flavors I do prefer in a carto, but I add some more flavoring to it. My own menthol/tobacco mix i prefer in ego mega dual coil carto's/boge 2.0. But fruit flavors i prefer in a vision ego whatever version. Tobacco in a boge

Thats why i always test dripping -> tank ego-c/leftover 510-t, then cleaned carto (cooking with distilled water/some wodka 3 times) to get a first test, without wasting a new carto. I only reuse carto's to test new flavors in. I know it's not 100%, but if I dont like it I didn't use another new carto, cause otherwise i'd better get some stock options in Boge/smoktech :p. And if the flavor is ok, i'll continue to use the carto for a couple of days, to see if I would vape this for a while

Great feedback <3 everyone seems to do it about the same way I was planning on. Still waiting on my nic/vg bases to arrive was a slight delay but should be here in a few days. Got my wide assortment of flavors today along with my SR306 debridged atty and a SR510 debridged atty and OMG...It's true what they say that there's a learning curve with dripping haven't quite figured it out yet but getting there. Hopefully I'll have it down by the time my base juices get here :)

Edit: Also I'm a big fan of Boge 2.0 cartos so got another 15 of those coming. Don't really wanna waste em though so will probably go with the above mentioned method of cleaning old ones to do a first test in (after dripping and putting in a ego-c tank that I have laying around). Have an order of Boba's Bounty and Hype coming in too can't wait to try those. Been thinking about getting a phiniac tank too since I like cartos. Ah so many things to get and so few paychecks.

I haven't tried a debridged atty (yet) so can't comment on them, but IkenVape's io6 atomizers are the Cat's Pajamas for testing new juices, IMO. Also I just ordered some of IKV's Cannon attys for the same purpose, on the suggestion of a knowledgeable vaper here on ECF. IkenVape's Site has been down lately but the io6 & Cannon attys were available Wednesday here: Buy Electronic Cigarettes Online Locally | Buy Cigarettes Online USA so I placed my 1st order with them. These attys vape great & the ones I've had held up for over 4 months... when they're available I look no further.

Best of luck & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Hmm dripping directly on the tongue before adding nic...that actually sounds like a really good idea. So far I don't see what all the hype about direct dripping is, I'm getting the same amount of vapor/flavor as I do from my boge cartos. Maybe a slight amount more of flavor? I dunno maybe it gets better after a few days of juice flow through it, still glad I got em for testing but don't think it'll be my preferred method. The 306 seems to work a lot better than the 510 for some reason.

Edit: Oh yea I've heard about those io6's might try one down the road

Have you noticed any difference between bridged and debridged atomizers?

With the 510 can't really tell a difference tbh. Haven't tried a bridged 306 to compare, but the 306 definitely hits better with more flavor than the 510 (with or without a bridge). Only problem is it does tend to leak especially with thinner juices. Gonna invest in a drip shield I think.

So Calif
I generally use an Empire Mods dripping atty, either 1.5 debridged 510 or 306, on top of a sealed adapter and with a drip shield to catch overflow. I put these on an Ego Twist at 4.2 or so volts for testing as that's about the minimum I vape at in a carto tank. I overflavor my juices a bit to counteract the loss of flavor in said cartos, consequently don't taste the filler at all.

I've tried the un nic'd tongue test but with heat the flavor changes, so I don't do that anymore.

YMMV

Yea getting my feet wet with the whole DIY juice making now and I find the flavor is definitely different once it's heated up on a coil as opposed to just tasting on my tongue. The 510 seems to hold flavor in it a lot longer than the 306 atty that I have, maybe because of the mesh stuff on the sides? In the process of steeping about 10 different mixes atm to see how the flavor changes, getting a little impatient though. How I've been taste testing em is I'll blow out the atty until it's nearly dry, vape some straight VG until most the flavor is gone, blow it out, dry burn the atty for about 3 seconds, sometimes a couple times, then vape some more VG until all the flavor is gone. It seems like I might be wasting a lotta VG like this though, maybe the flavor is sticking with me because of my mouth/nose? I dunno still experimenting hehe and having a blast!

Oh! and I never realized just how thick pure VG really is, thinking I might have to invest in some PG or pick up some everclear to thin the stuff out. Found out that I don't even really need nicotine anymore to enjoy vaping and would love to start down that road but it's just way too thick for cartos like that. Even at the 70/30 VG/PG (PG from the nicotine and flavors) ratio I'm using it's struggling to wick at times.
