This +1
People crying out loud (not many but a couple) about evolv, on other forums to. I said exactly what you just said a week ago or so on ukv.
They even reparing or completly swapping boards from obvious user end F* ups, wich other company does that these days, exactly 0.
This is the good stuff about being able to monitor and record the board, because i bet they did get alot of slack on the dna40 to for some cases they didnt deserve it as alot (not all, im not dumb) was user error IMHO.

On a sidenote

I cant make my mind up on wat mod to go for next. I wish evolv would just release some ready made boxes already with couple battery options, alto they must be very bussy atm to care about making/asembling mods themself lol. That militia mod seems properly made inside and has a nice battery, wish someone in the UK or EU would make something like that. Realy need a second one to have in rotation with my opus (if some decent DIY'r from the EU feels like it dont hold back to shoot me a PM :p )

I am on UKV & PotV and posted my DNA200 a couple of weeks ago, but they don't seem as interested in modding as they used to be or maybe it's they don't like Evolv, or me. I spend most time on AAE-C where at least 3 of us have built DNA200s, Windows is making wood DNA200 on a small scale and I may decide to make a batch with bought in boxes. I find the Evolv EA forum and ECF have more info and support for modders old an new

@VapingBad What gauge did you use to extend the JST connector? I got 24awg and 22awg lying around will either of them work?
I used 30 AWG, ebay itm 321796165055, I would have rather used 28 AWG, but couldn't find any cheap enough. You could also just chop and extension lead. I asked John on the Evolv forum and he said they never carry more than 40 mA. You do need to support the pins that would have gone through the board or they could pull out with the plug. I put some Scotch tape around the socket and filled it with epoxy.

ETA
So yea both 22 & 24 will be fine.

I just posted this in the Mike & Tibs thread, but I thought I'd post here too. MY U-Frame design came in from Sculpteo and like my angled box design, the print quality is just so much better than Shapeways. No sanding is required on this...even though the door and body were printed separately. Shapeways has really disappointed me of late even when I print doors/bodies together. This one will have black buttons and a black VT 510...I'll be building it tomorrow and will post pics of the completed mod once finished. The battery is a Multistar 1400mAh. The idea is that the door and body can be printed in different colors for customization. I'm really happy with the way this one turned out!

GV has the DNA200 Boxer up for preorder right now. I was told it would be mid-late August when they start shipping. Oh, and it has a 1000mAh 3S 25C Zippy lipo.

Also, the battery will be removable, but I forgot to ask what connectors they'll be using. If they're not XT30's, I may be replacing them.

Looks pretty cool, actually. I don't know about all the GV Drama, myself.

My problem is that, I am very iffy on what it would feel like in the hand. It looks alright... it would be a 200 dollar gamble for me to find out though.

Screws are all intact. My screen just went out though. Looks like a software glitch though. It comes back when I reboot it via Escribe but goes dark as soon as I fire, like being in stealth mode but can't get out of it.

Give me a few mins, I'll post a pic of it.

Micro Deans is rated at 10a (15a tops). I just installed my XT30 connectors and they're pretty sweet. 30a rating and really easy to plug/unplug. I need to order a few dozen more for everything . No, seriously... I need to order about 20 pr more. They're really that good.

Send it into Evolv, they'll take care of you. Int'l shipping sucks but talk to them to see what they can do for you.
The Deans ultra is rated at 60a continuous.....

I wonder what they do with the old boards
John mentioned that they're examining each board to see where the failures are to correct it, even if it's user error.

Yes but they're much bigger than Dean's Micro and XT30 connectors. You only need 23a and the XT30's are perfect. HobbyKing is the cheapest place including shipping. Buying the esc side and battery side separately is cheaper than buying them in pairs. Besides, I need more battery sides than esc sides so it works out better for me.

One of the reasons I love the Multistar 1400mAh is that it comes stock with an XT30...not that changing connectors is all that difficult, but it eliminates a step in a build if the battery is already set up for use. :)

the worst thing is that the fuse I need is either shipping from the US so costs about 30 bucks to get ONE fuse. one place sells by 10 but only ships to the UK. all the other places won't ship untill a minimum of 100/1000.
I know you've already returned the board but why didn't you just ask Evolve to send you a replacement fuse?

Your eyeballs are obviously under 30 years old lol. Replacing even larger surface mount components without one of these is not a good idea. If you don't already have one, it's too expensive if it's only to repair a few boards.

Wow I am seriously impressed by the customer service of evolv. Jesus christ. free repair for a screwup I most likely did? Free shipping to boot.

I am impressed as well. However, they are trying to get them in and look at the failures for improvements. Several issues that have been assumed to be user error may not be. They are doing this chip right and are by far the best manufacture for modders.
