Many thanks to breaktru and retird for showing their mods using this 9v batt box and giving me the inspiration to tackle the build. :toast:

I can't believe I got all the circuitry and batt to fit in this teeny tiny box. I was able to squeeze in (just barely lol) a 1200mAh 25C li-poly batt. I had to do some... ummm... creative modding to get everything to fit.

With Lexi and Max I used a piece of polycarbonate that I adhered to the display so that it gave the display a bit of height to fit into the cutout which made it flush with the front of the case, but with this mod I simply seated the display just using the thin black transparent plastic piece that the display comes with so it seats a bit recessed with the front of the case. The cutout I used is the same size as the transparent plastic piece.

I also gave the case a light sanding.

This is the smallest regulated mod I've made... totally teeny tiny

I drilled a 1/16" hole next to the micro-USB charging board to let the light from the LED to come through when charging...

Thanks guys! :)

BEAUTIFUL................!!!!!!!!! and I like the tiny hole for the led to illuminate better.....I'm gonna steal (borrow) your idea LOL....

Wish I had one of those templates.......I'm sure it saves alot of time not having to measure, measure, measure....

The hole was a last minute to do cuz the LED light was barely peeking through the USB cutout. Without that hole I would need my specs when charging to see the LED light.

The template sheets I use is Quilter's Template Plastic. I buy it at JoAnn's - it is gridded for 1/8". Perfect for accuracy for quilting and modding.

Nicely done Mamu.. Bravo and welcome to the mini club.

Suggestion for the hole for the USB LED. I use a transparent length of monofiliment line (weedwacker) thru the hole and over the LED. I think it's .80 ga. It acts like a fiber optic. The LED is transfered easily through the monofiliment and the LED is bright.

You want the monofiliment to sit over the LED so it transfers the light up thru the hole.

Breaktru why doesn't it surprise me that you use weed wacker string for an LED light pipe...its actually pretty brilliant.

I have worked with some light pipes and there are some OTS versions made to snap over led's that have 90* bends and etc. Clear acrylic rod or square stock with a 45 cut over the led to bounce the light 90* works good also.

Great idea breaktru! I'm sure hubby has some of that stuff - time to nose around in his shop.

Dang mamu you don't eff around....next time when you say your thinking about doing something ill set on the edge of my chair.

You make it look to easy :toast:

It looks easy cuz you see just the pics. What you don't see is the @+#%$&, *$%^#$, and *%&@$#)%#&* I go through during the build. :D
