It was Retird's thread, bap.

I put one set of the connector's I linked to in that thread in Delsy. It fit, but boy oh boy just barely. But then I got to thinking, when I need to replace the batt I would have to desolder at the tabs anyway if I wanted to recycle the connection, but leave all other connections in place, and simply solder the new batt at the tabs again.

The advantage though for the connectors would be if you needed an emergent disconnect for whatever reason.

Well poo....I guess that is what I get for thinking.

All of what you say is very true. I can guarantee I'm not nearly as careful as you or as I should be, and using the LP mini blade is awesome for me. I get everything all done and then energize the system by putting the fuse in, same way going the other way fuse out first and throw caution to the wind :D

I had to tear down my 6000mah setup the other day and the battery was about dead, and it sure was nice to charge that beast in hour on my RC charger compared to 12 hours with the DNA. In a few weeks of use the 6000mah battery has only been fully charged once.

But you have plenty of awesome mods to use while you charge your other dozen or so :D

If you guys want cheaper batteries, check Hobby King out. They sell 1 cell batteries for a couple bucks. I fly RC planes and buy batteries from them and have not had any problems with the ones I have purchased. They are a great source.

Here is a 1000 mAh single cell for $2.42

Did you make the case yourself mamu?

I want to make pretty much the same mod, using the DNA, and wood as the housing with a sliding door. But in order to make it you have to use a router table for wood work for the sliding door.

Delsy's case is a heartwood case, like westy linked to.

You'll get the smallest form factor in bullet connectors. The 2mm are thin and about 10mm long. The 3.5mm variety are a bit thicker, but shorter overall. These are not polarized, so you gotta be paying attention when you plug in.

Hey Mamu. Do you think an 18650 battery would be able to fit in that exact same 3" box?

I know it would be fine length wise but I don't know if it's wide enough. There isn't much room to work with in this box. And I've been looking at the 4" box but that one is way bigger.

An 18650 batt (I measured with an AW IMR 18650 batt) is about an eighth of an inch too long to fit inside the case.

Hey Mamu.

What buttons did you use for the up and down buttons?

I'm modding a heartwood box...shhhh it's a secret :). But it's not the same box that you used in this thread. But it has the same thickness. And I don't have much room left and the switches I wanted to use for the up and down buttons are too big.

The fire button I have is going to be used on the other side and fits fine.

The up/down buttons are just simple tact switches. You can buy them in different actuator lengths depending on the thickness of the case.

These are the ones I use in Delsy... EVQ-21407K

Thank You Mamu.

I was thinking this is what you used. I just couldn't figure out the actuator height. I pretty much thought that the 6mm actuator ones that madvape sells wouldn't be long enough and trying to figure it out was frustrating. And since I haven't worked with these buttons I didn't know what size actuator would work.

Thanks again.

Something went wrong with my Digikey order. The switches I ordered were the ones that mamu posted the link to....7.00mm actuator.

But these switches I received are way to small. Only a 3.00mm button height....and thats stretching it. About 6.00mm height from the pins.

Anyways, I'm only upset because I have to try and order the correct ones and wait again to start my build. I will keep these ones even if they are the wrong switches because I can use them in another future mod. It was only 5 bucks for 10 switches.

I measured and I measured and these don't seem to be 7mm. IDK if Digikey sent me the wrong ones or not.

If you ordered the part number I listed, then you got the ones I used in Delsy. If you notice Digikey's table listing the specs of this tact switch, the actuator height is measured off the PCB, from pins, not from the top of the plate.

I had no problem with the thickness of the wood and the actuator of this tact switch, but I like the low profile look. If you want an actuator that sticks out more, then the 9.5mm ones would be better for you or you can go ahead and use these 7mm tact switches and dremel down the thickness inside the case where the tact switch is seated so that more of the actuator sticks out.
