My friend has the Goon LP and I built the same build that I had always done for my Velocity V2 on his. It seemed to me when pulsing his that it took slightly longer to ramp up and needed more wattage to get the coil glowing than my velocity. Is it possible that being that the Goon doesn't surround the coil fully (part of the sides aren't touching the clamp), that is why the ramp up was longer? The build is 22G kanthal 6 wraps 3mm inside diameter dual coil. I know that 22G is thick wire but I have been building that build only for months so I saw a difference. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I know you said same coil, but could the leads be of a different lenght?

Yeah actually one coil had longer leads because it was hard for me to get both coils with the same length leads because I wasn't used to the clamp style. Compared to the velocity I made the coil very close to the center but not too close.

Nic`d Up in Oklahoma!
They can be a bugger to get a really good connection with, due to the two screws and two leads, sometimes one lead is getting a better connection, the bar likes to rock up and down as one screw it tightened and so forth. Try removing them and remounting them, and make sure that clamping bar is straight across when both screws are snugged, or adjust it so that it is and then tighten down. It can take some fidgeting to get them just right. If using really thick wire, it may serve you well to take a small hammer to the leads so they are a bit flat so they make better contact.
