I have been smoke free for about 45 days now and borderline obsessed with my PV. I prep my "supplies" every night so I am prepared for the next day. I have my little bag of goodies that goes everywhere with me. I Love vaping, soooo happy I tried it!!
My problem...About 3-4 times a day I still get a strong urge to smoke a cigarette. It quickly passes, I just vape and forget about it. It actually seemed easier to resist the cigarettes the first week or two. Proud to say, I have not given in! I know I am fairly new to this but does the urge to smoke ever go away? Is it unrealistic to hope that one day the thought of smoking will disgust me?

There are tons of people here who never have any urges, even from day one.
There are also many here who find they need something else.

First make sure you have your nicotine strength right.
Then make sure finding the right flavors isn't the problem.
Then try looking into some smokeless alternatives like Snus if the problem isn't solved.

I haven't craved a cigarette since I started.
But I have one now and then, maybe once every few months.

The fact that it now tastes like crap helps me realize how much I really don't want them.
But everyone is different, so you need to find what works for you.

Once I found my optimal nic strength, things were easy. Did have a moment or two of weakness, but just went ahead and lit up rather then overthink it. Analogs tasted so nasty that a drag or two was all it took to remember way I wanted to stop that!

Give yourself a break. It took (most of) us years to get this addicted. Don't expect to get completely over a long engrained habit in a few weeks or even the first few months. It's a process... but at least it's a much more enjoyable one now!

I had the cravings at first when all I had was a standard e-cig. Mods are the way to go if you want to get rid of the cravings IMHO. A mod at 3.7 has enabled me to be craving free for a whole year so far :) Good luck!

What strength are your liquids? I find that I'm usually between 24mg and 36mg and I'm usually fine. I WAS having the odd craving for a ciggie m'self..usually at night, before I went to bed, but, like you, I just vaped my face off until it went away.

Normally, I wouldn't recommend this, but if you've been vaping for 45 days, your pretty much 'entrenched'. You COULD do what I did and take a drag of a cigarette. I almost PUKED! I couldn't believe it!! I didn't start vaping to quit smoking, I had NO desire to do so and literally FELL into ecigs strictly by accident. I thought that, if I had a drag, I'd be smoking that thing to the FILTER and probably beyond..but, NOPE! It was SO nasty, I practically RAN for my Ego full of Atomic Cinnacide.

Whether or not it was 'do-able', I kinda 'swished' the AC around in my mouth to get rid of the taste!!

I don't think that anyone that has smoked for a long period of time can honestly say that after quitting that they don't get the occasional craving. My Grandparents quit over twenty years ago and openly admit that they still crave a smoke every once in a while.

I quit for a little over six months a couple of years back and after a night of drinking where I bought a pack started back up like I had never stopped.

Finding the right juice was key for me... killed the urge... even the after diner cig...

I continued to take drags once I started vaping... it got progressively more disgusting...
My liquid just tasted better... then I found the right juice that was strong enough that did the trick...

Thanks for the input. I smoked menthol ultra lights for 13+ years so obviously I started with low (12mg nic) and thought that anything more would make me sick. Wrong!! I am now up to 24mg and sometimes I don't feel like I am getting the nic.
Do you feel confident you are getting good vapor production?
Because if not, you are probably not getting as much nicotine either.

Also, how many packs did you smoke?
Also, are you using automatic or manual batteries?

I am using a manual Joye 510, very happy with the vapor. I smoked a pack a day of VS ultralight menthol.

Sounds like plenty of vapor and nicotine at 24mg, instead of one pack of ultralight smokes.
Sounds like your issues are beyond nicotine.

You might want to check out the smokeless forum.
You might be needing things that come in cigarettes but not in vapor.

Remember, there are 4000 chemicals in those things.
And many of them are there to get you hooked, besides just the nicotine.

MAOIs are just one of many such things in cigarettes that are not in vapor.
But you can get most of these missing things from (very safe) smokeless products.

I have been vaping for just over 2 months and I still crave a cig most every morning, I just vape like crazy when I first get up. I use 36 mg during the day than switch to 24 mg. I know it takes time but I keep hoping the morning cravings go away soon. I haven't tried a cig since I quit smoking and am afraid to try one because I am one who will just start right back where I stopped.
