Hadbucs,

I just started with e-cigs this past week, but I had a very experienced user recommend the Joye 510 to begin and I had no problems I am free of tabacco since I got it in the mail. It was a great experience. So if you are thinking to start there is a website that I used and they are super fast and have great product.
Go to cignot and look at their Joye 510 and don't forget to order some juice...they send some but pre filled cartridges but they don't last that long (depend how much you vape) .
Another thing that helped me was the ECF I got a lot of information here. Just browse around and you will find a lot of info from experts in the subject.

Yeah I never fell victim to the "free trials".. Though I did fall for a super mini though. My first ecig I ordered was a "Blu" brand (yeah I fell for the hype) and due to back-orders I got tired of waiting and after spotting the nJoy's at a local gas station and canceled my order and picked up the nJoy npro for 80 bucks! Yeah what a rip off. Had nothing but problems, exchanged it to get more problems. Never knew when it was going to work and when it wouldn't.

Did some research and discovered the 510 reviews on youtube and wow. What a difference that made. One year later I'm still a hard core 510 fan and haven't tried a 801/901 yet. Maybe one day, but I'm happy with my 510's honestly. Maybe one day I'll try some 5/6 volt vaping but who knows.

I realise how confusing it can be for new folks. There is a thread here somewhere which explains everything one needs to know about vaping. It's a wonderful resource for beginners. Alas, I can't find it now .. grr!
Hopefully someone else will be able to highlight if for you. It's a great read and I promise it will save you many headaches. There is so much information on these boards, and some fantastic people who will willingly help you, but once you read that thread, you will be much more informed.
Someone please pull it up?

Hi all, new to ECF and this is my first post.

Similarly, my first E-cig was the subject of this thread. I heard an ad on the radio, and I've seen the e-cig kiosks at the mall...and I've been wanting to quit cancer sticks for awhile, but I enjoy smoking too much. So they set the bait, and I bit. All in all, my experience wasn't "nightmarish"...I got the hardware for free...I told the girl on the phone(from company X), that I didn't want the garbage, just the e-cig...and low and behold, all I got in the mail was the e-cig. However, 30 days later, they charged my credit card $88.00 for a carton of carts. When I called to cancel, they knocked off 1/2 the price, refunded the difference to my card, and cancelled any further shipments/charges. It's been 2 months and they've been good on their word.

A co-worker saw my e-cig, and she showed me her Blu, (which I thought was bad-..., and ordered it after doing some research)...and I couldn't be more pleased!!! Been off of cancer-sticks for 4 days now, and will never go back!!

Just want to introduce myself. I received my starter kit April 15, 2010. (Tax day, how perfect!!) I have almost completely quit tobacco after 37 years of smoking. The only time I've smoked is when both my batteries are dead. And to solve that problem I have ordered extra batteries and the charger that works off my PC. What a fantastic idea what was! I already can walk my dogs longer and further without being out of breath. I can have my grandkids and nieces over and not subject them to second hand smoke.

I am from Illinois and I did write all my representatives asking them to vote for MY health instead of "Big Tobacco" interests.

I am so happy I found this forum so I will know where to come to get the support and information I need to help me be tobacco free for the rest of my life.

Oh and one of the best things is that my "smoker's cough" is almost completely gone.

Me too. And I got ripped off price-wise. But I thank Gawd for it. It turned me on to vaping, and now I know what to get NEXT time I order something. In my experience, you'll still get that "morning hack" for a while, but you'll notice less and less crap coming up, as your lungs clear out. I got my first PV last Sunday (5/2), cheated some, and over the next days smoked a pack of camels. My last Analog was around 10 am yesterday (Cinco de Mayo)...

Went outside the office, smoked half of it, and on the way in started coughing until I actually wretched, like dry heaves. Handed the rest of my pack to a co-worker who still smokes. "Dude, you can have these, I never want them again". Even gave him my rolling machine, tubes, all that.

I've only been vaping a week, and already I notice my lungs opening up. I smoked.... I smoked a lot!!! Started on Camels at 18 (my birthday, 8/28/1984), when they were 85 cents a pack. Been doing them for almost 25 years now... switched to American Spirits a few years back. VERY strong. I thought I'd never ever be able to give up smoking. Cold Turkey, patches, gum.... nothing worked. This, I can do, even as heavy as I've always smoked.

So, cudos. I notice that my lungs seem to open up and I cough up a lot... then it subsides (but I notice I can breathe deeper)... then a few days later, I'm hacking up gobs again, but after that, I can take in more air still...

What do y'all think? Are the chambers in my lungs finally getting "un-tarred", and opening up one by one?

Knight Sticks, argggg!!!!!
character0029.gif

Way back around the beginning of the year I fell for the Knight Sticks scam. I was lucky and it only cost me $9.95 s&h, thanks to advice I received on this forum. So, I thought that when I canceled, that was the end of the story and the start of my real vaping experience. Not so fast!

Starting around two weeks ago ... a full FOUR months after my Knight Sticks cancellation ... the robo calls began. Over the past two weeks, my caller ID indicated an unknown caller an average of once per day. They are all received during business hours, while I'm at work. Well, after the first few I got curious enough to call this unknown number back.

I was told that I had indicated an interest in smoking cessation products, "on a web site" which they wouldn't name. I told them that I had zero interest in what they were offering and to please remove me from their list.

Days go by, and the phone calls keep coming. I call back, this time hinting at the possibility of litigation. This time demanding not so politely that they stop calling me, that there is no way in hell I would buy what they're selling.

Days go by, and the phone calls keep coming. I call back this afternoon. The person finally identifies the company she represents ... Knight Sticks.:nah:
I repeated the threats and the flat out, no mistaking where this guy's head is at, I ain't gonna buy ANYTHING from you, take my name off your list.

Each of the last two contacts I've made with them, they identified my phone number and stated my first and last name. They know who I am, and they couldn't have had it put more plainly to them that I consider their phone calls to be harassment, that I am not a potential customer.

Will the phone calls keep coming? Do I actually have to retain an attorney?

To all new members that are thinking about getting into the world of PV's (e-cigs)...

Do not order "free trial" offers. Most of these companies offering so-called free trials are thought of as scams by most members of this forum.
I use the word 'scam' loosely, as they are operating under all the policies and conditions laid out in the fine print of their contract, so they are a legal operation. However, the shady practices they use qualify them as scams to me.

They will suck you in with the offer of free goods. Then, once they have your credit card number, you're hooked. After the 'trial period' expires they will charge your card for the device. Usually charging way more than the device is selling for elsewhere.

They will also start you on a plan to send you a supply of prefilled carts each month and automatically charge your account.

Many of these are selling inferior models at triple (or more) the cost that they can be purchased from one of the many suppliers listed on this forum. Do some research on this forum, and determine what model suits your needs best. Then make an informed purchase from a reputable supplier.

If you have already purchased and received one of these 'free-trial' offers, return it immediately! The trial period typically starts when they ship the product not when you receive it, so you don't have much time to act once it's in your hands.

Moderators: Can we get a sticky on this subject? It doesn't have to be this post, but this warning should be one of the first things prospective new users see. These scammers are giving the whole industry a bad name.

Edit Note: To anyone wishing to reply to this post and share their experiences, that will be helpful to others as well. However, please refrain from calling out any company by name. I would hate to see this much needed information have to be taken down due to posts that break any forum rules. I think just mentioning a company as a "free-trial supplier" is enough to cover all such companies. There are many of these companies out there now, and some even seem to change their name on a regular basis. The one that advertises on my local radio station has altered their name twice in the last 6-8 months, yet have the exact same script in their commercial (with just the name changed).

I thought so when they contacted me.
