Aloha again,
I have a question regarding the USB Passthroughs, the ones you use while sitting at your computer or laptop. What is the average length of the cord? I have an older computer and the USB port is in the back of the unit. I use a 510 and 901.
Thanks in advance for information anyone has on this subject.
I've heard it was better to use a plug in usb charger (like the iphone wall charger). There have been a couple of horror stories about computers blowing things (like the motherboard).

There are 2 different types of passthroughs; one with an inline battery (inline rectangular box), and one without the inline battery.

The one with the inline battery is alright to plug into your computer because all that's happening there is the port is just keeping the inline battery charged.

The one without the battery will need a source between 1.5 Amps to 2.0 Amps because it powers the atomizer directly. With this type you'll need an external source such as a powered USB port or AC Adapter/Charger capable of 2 Amps output.

Just discovered e-cigs last night and was very skeptical of these free offers. With so many brands and types, it looks like I have a lot to research before I choose which one to buy. I am happy to have found this forum because it looks like a great resource. I will do a lot of reading here. I am sure this question has been asked many times, but how to e-cigs compare in cost to say traditional cigarettes? I usually pay about $40 a carton and smoke about a pack a day. Just wondering if I can make the transition to e-cigs if I will spend more or less money.

I have been trying to find if there is really a difference of 510 attomizers from different vendors, I suspected that most these suppliers buy from a larger manufacture as I can't imagine there are many. I have found that there must be. Some of the direct from china like bestecig.com has cheap prices but $15-$16 shipping sof if ordering qty it works. I have not gotten a dead atty from them but some last a lot more than others. So its a luck of the draw. Price is almost half of regular so if your ordering qty its not bad.

So far my best long lasting atomizers consistantly are totallywicked-eliquid.com (expensive but have a nice gold band) and puresmoker.com If you order more than 5 from them you get 20% bulk discount.

So far my worst experience has been ikenvape.com ordered 5 atty 2 came deffective as in never worked post was set to high to make contanct with battery and the other 3 lasted about 3 days. Customer service said I didnt by the warranty and Im out of luck. They said they only have 24 hour warranty and unless you checked all atty when recieved they will not help you. I advise to stay away from their 510 atty's.

I am curious as to others findings. Do you guys find the same results? Can you share your best 510 atty suppliers and worsts?

Thanks

My husband almost got hooked into one of these. He heard the radio ad and called the number. Once they told him they would need a credit card number to send the "free sample" he told them he'd have to call me. I had already been doing my research here, thank my lucky stars, and had run across this post. They still call once a week to see if he has changed his mind...

Go for it! You should find it much less costly to vape than to continue with the analogs. I was smoking between 30 and 40 nasty killer cigarettes until the day my kit arrived - no way am I going back.

This forum is a wonderful resource.

#1, YES, do a lot of reading. This forum has a boat load of information.

Cost comparison, hmmm. I've spent MUCH more on vaping than I did on smoking. Not everybody does, but some of us do. Theoretically, after your initial purchases, it could be cheaper. Although I haven't seen $40 cartons of cigarettes in a long time.

It depends. Many of us trade smoking for a hobby (vaping), and as a hobby it can be pricey. Even then, you have to factor in the medical expenses 'down the road' which you are bypassing.

Congrats on not falling for the FREE trial offers. Every single one of them is a scam.

i havent gone through all 11+ pages , but i had an idea with the "testers club" , i think for ten bucks you should be able to get a little perfume sample size bottle of 20 flavors from eliquid places. a small bottle is usually 5$ from what i have seen , and a lot of the flavors taste like (insert expletive for dramatic emPHASIS )
