I'm new to the vaping arena (I just ordered two joyetech eGos today), and also new to this site. I still have so much to learn and this site has been tremendously helpful in my education. I must say that I am actually thankful for the "free-trial" scam as it applied to me. Fortunately, I recognized it as a scam, but it did lead me down the path of research into this new world of vaping. I have smoked analogs, off and on, for almost 30 years, and I am thrilled to find an option that will allow me (and my girlfriend as well) to quit smoking for good. We are anxiously awaiting our eGos, and looking forward to learning all we can.

Thank you all for making this learning curve a whole lot easier!!!

Not just with e-cigs, even the commercials that are on TV right now, lol. What they never say is what's in the fine print (if it's even listed) that says they will charge you, etc. and how difficult it is to cance, as the numbers provided don't work (if any are provided), automated systems that you cant get to a real operator, etc.

We (roommate and myself) are going through that with 1 company right now. We ordered a "free trial" then saw the extra fine print. Sent it back and they still charged my roommate. She's after them now for a refund and has already gotten the info needed to contact the BBB. Right away we ordered from another more reputable company and have had no problem.

I remember a couple of friends back in Middle School used their parents credit cards to sign up for a "free" membership with BMG. It was something like, get 10 cd's for only 1$ after you were signed up. Then, each month they'd send you a CD from the genres of the cd's you picked out, and charge your credit card 19.99$ for each one. It was almost IMPOSSIBLE to cancel with them and the banks didn't work with you as much to reverse the charges like they do nowadays.

Edit: My Mom also fell for the Trio 51 scam. She got one starter kit for like $9.99, then they sent a second the next month and started charging her like 100$ for each one. She was able to cancel it through our bank, even the $9.99 charge. So now I have two free 51 Trio batteries that work with my 510. :)
