Woa.. Your first e-ciggies being Ego's.. Cool!!!

Now you will become addicted to this forum and buying all the other models and mods :)
Welcome to the forum!!

LOL....I did lots of research on this site prior to buying my eGo, and it has been time well spent!! I absolutely love it! I've been analog free for almost 6 whole days, and have no desire to go back. My favorite flavor so far is the English Toffee from Cignot.com, and I just ordered some flavorants, bottles and VG fluid to start figuring out how to mix my own flavors.

Cool!! I too waited and researched the forum prior to getting my first (a 510).. Now I wish I ordered a 401 first since they are wonderful (many reasons).. Also have a Janty Stick which is nice...

Haven't tried English Toffee yet but that's on my list.. I do a lot of DIY too.. It's all fun... Go onto the DIY threads under "Tips and Tricks" and enjoy being a mad scientist.. There is a wonderful calculator in there too which is handy... Oh and the recipe section is great!!

Awesome!!! I'm sure I'll get into other types/styles of PVs as I get further into this wonderful new world I've found...lol

I was just on the DIY threads and got a LOT of great info. (saw some bickering about preferences there too, but I understand people standing up for what they believe...no harm, no foul). I downloaded the e-juice calculator (version 13) and it's great!!! I also bookmarked another web-based calculator that I think is the same one Mistress Nomad started with (her videos were tremendously helpful).

Now I'll just sit here and stare out the window until the postman comes...I feel like an 8 year old on Christmas Eve, just knowing Santa is on his way....hahaha

Hi Everyone!
I am new here. I stumbled on this site because I was looking for a cheap alternative to the carts that get sent out after the 15 day trial. I was pulled in....Fortunatly, I only have to pay @10.00 s/h for the starter unit (I will never be billed for the unit) If I dont cancel in 15 days they will send 10 carts (equal to 20 packs of cigs) for 80.00 + s/h and do so every month!!!!
Now that I have found this forum, I have been looking around it all day. When I get the unit, I will have to look around and ask questions to see what if anything is compatible so I can have extra bats etc. If not I have already found a site with very reasonable prices so I can start over. I have already placed an order for "juice" in anticipation of refilling the carts that come with my package. Obviously...I will cancel my "trial" the second I get the package! A unit with chargers for $10.00....I can live with and now that I know how many options I have....I am so greatful for this site!:2cool:

If you've looked around enough here, hopefully you learned that 10 carts does not equal 20 packs of smokes.
And when I say "does not equal" I mean not even close, not even remotely close.

In relation to the number of drags, the cartridges will only be about 3 smokes each.
So 10 cartridges is probably a pack and a half.

Thank god i did not fall pray like so many of my friends a year ago to the infamous mall kiosk. Hpw many people have been turned off of e-cigs because of the larceny that takes place from those retailers should be pretty high. I recall that 1 guy told me that for an initial cost of 200.00 I could start living a healthier life. I dont think he was offering me a Prodigy V3 and a Wetbox. But wouldnt have been alot cooler of he did? lol!!!

I know of a few people that have ordered a trial offer for an ecig. None of them had any issue with the terms. I must also say that I and those I know that bought them are of a special breed and actually complete trial offers regularly. Reading the terms is second nature to us. But, for the regular everyday user whom does not realize the importance of reading everything before ordering it can be detrimental.

I almost fell into this trap but was saved from info on the forums. I tried 2 free trials just a few weeks ago and realized there was fine print. When I called to cancel they both offered to drop the high price. One was still way too high but the other was reasonable so I kept it. They also sign you up for overpriced monthly cartridge shipments and you have to make sure that is canceled too. At the end of each call I let them know the call had been recorded "for quality assurance" just like their recording says it can be....... If you get caught and are still in the trial period, make sure it reaches their door before the trial expires and make sure to send with tracking.

Good thing I never tried a "Free Trial". I've explored a couple of websites that the e-cig company keeps charging your card and sending you replacement carts. Is this standard practice with distributors or would this fall under the disreputable category as well?
No, that is not standard practice.
In fact, that's the worst thing you can do.

When we starting vaping about 4 months ago we got a free trial offer. The company sold one piece cartridges and refillable also. We had to take one automatic shipment of refillable carts and cancelled thereafter. We bought e-liquid from a different site and rely liked the taste of the refillable e-cig. Unfortunatly they had multiple probelms and we gave them up.

As a new guy, I hate to go against the flow, but...
When I first heard about e-cigs, it was on the radio... One of my favorite radio personalities was cancelled in NYC and I was listening via a computer stream from a radio station in Alaska, and there was this commercial for a cigarette that plugs into your USB port! I knew i should be cutting down, but I didn't want to go for the chemical lobotomy, so this was for me. THAT was a scam, the package never came and I had to charge it back on my credit card. Then some time after I was accustomed to smoking these things and had one good brand, i decided to try a free trial to, well, try out the competition. I paid $7 in shipping for a battery, two cartridges, and a charger. It was a really long lasting battery and the cartridges tasted more like tobacco than what passes for tobacco these days. Needless to say, the refills were hideously expensive. I called to cancel after the first shipment, and they said, okay, we'll cut the price in half. They still aren't cheap, but they are also much cheaper than the $12 a pack cigarettes here, so now i have a monthly "treat" from my regular brands. Not a nightmare, not a scam. And since my regular main brand is from China, I have a ready fall back in case the FDA makes good on its threats to stop shipments at the airport.
