Thanks for the info. I never fall for stuff like that, but when it comes to e-cigs I'm always wanting to try new things. I don't have a lot of money, so free samples sounds so tempting.
Does anyone know of any free samples out there that aren't a scam? I know most companies wouldn't want to give out free samples, but there might be someone. I like the idea of trading e-liquids on this forum. Anyone know how many posts I have to make before I can post on the trading thread? This will be my 7th. I'm gonna try to post on there after this post. I hope it's not too many.
It must be that i live in Los Angeles, I have never heard an ad for e-cig nor have i seen anyone that has one. thats what brought me to the forum. I am also interested if anyone know of legit samples like poster above asks

Shoot. I fell for the directecig.com scam too. The day after the kit arrived I found this forum, so at least I can cancel in time. Thanks for the info.
I actually ordered a trial from Clear Smoke in the UK before reading up on the alleged trial system.
I then found a good 510 starter kit which I ordered, and contacted Clear Smoke to try and pevent dispatch.
I was too late and it was already allegedly being sent out and the sales person then tried their hardest to get me not to cancel.
They even dropped the price to pay at the end of the trial down by a whopping £40, but I just doggedly kept saying no.
My 510 kit arrived a couple of days later and despite the trial being ordered three days before that and another couple of days having passes there is still no sign of the Clear Smoke package which I must return. I have however got an email confirming my cancelation at least and if they try to take money because I have not returned the kit I will sue the .... off them and get trading standards on to them.

- No e-mail to confirm the purchase.
- No notification of shipping.
- The product *did* actually arrive in about 4 days, as promised.
- I charged it up and tried it. Seems okay.
(Then I joined e-cigarette-forum and found out that I had fallen for a fine-print purchase-and-subscription scam.)
- I called and canceled out of the subscription. Hold time was only a couple of minutes.
- When my 14 days (starting on the order date) is up, they will charge me about $110...
- AND they will send me another 30 cartridges at no extra cost, not even shipping.
- End of deal. No more charges. I keep the kit.
I double-checked those last details to be sure there wasn't a hidden charge for the carts or for shipping them etc.
I decided to keep the kit rather than sending it back because when I read through the "Terms" it looked like I stood to lose about $60 if I return the kit. The cost of keeping it is only $50 more (not too much more than a reasonably priced kit), and I get to keep the kit and all 40 cartridges.
$60 is an expensive lesson but I should have known better. If it weren't for this forum, it would have been a lot worse due to that way-overpriced subscription scam.
Edit: Thanks to other folks on these forums for pointing out what other e-cig models this one is equivalent to. So even if I don't upgrade for a while, at least I can get parts and liquid without ever having to go back to that vendor.

I just reported directecig.com to the Better Business Bureau for hiding obligations to purchase and subscribe in their "Terms" document instead of listing the prices in invoice form.
I never thought this thread would grow to 1000 posts when I started it.

I was suckered in to one of those free trials and lost about a hundred dollars but I consider it "initiation" money. I was downstairs watching tv when a commercial came on with these people blowing "smoke" around. Making all these claims that it was only water vapor and that it satisfied like a real cig would. Well I was hooked. I went up stairs and googled the company only to find out that it did indeed have a bad rap. When I did some more reading I found out that what most people did not like was the fact that they auto billed you. Well that was OK with me. What I did not know was how small the cartridges were and how quickly they would run out. So I ordered. After a 15 day waiting period (no joke) the product finally arrived and I thought They had to be kidding. The ecig looked like it was a toy. I was constantly going through cartrdiges that were supposed to last me a month. Thats when I started doing some serious researching and came across this place and ordered from one of the vendors here. I canceled my orders with the company and launched into my experience as a vaping ex smoker (almost) I have one pack left and will smoke two analogs a day until they run out.
