free trials make me about as nervous as ordering online from unknown distributors. It seems there are new retailers opening up everyday, hard to keep up with surge. Seems like only yesterday there were only a couple of vape stores online to choose from, now it's more like thousands. This is a good warning for people just starting out with vaping.

hmmmm, can't name companies eh? But I must resort to some sort of leveling because I was horrified to nearly get burned myself.

So... I get this phone call... and after talking for a while with the person from 'un-named company' I began to fathom exactly how lucky I was to have avoided being screwed over for something to the tune of $150 plus.

No where in the clickie thing I read and ordered this 'kit' for shipping cost did it say anything about paying $75 for the crappy out of date kit but I also had no clue about this refil scam I would be charged for as well.

I say 'scam' because after talking with them.. the bottom line was, even if I returned the 'trial' kit I was going to pay through the nose just for having stepping in this trap.

You look at the adverts they have out there, check the consumer complaint websites and find out there are lots of law suits pending against this company.

Every so often they call me and I laugh in the face of who ever it is on the other end expecting that I am about to give them any sort of credit card number. Certainly it's the last thing I am about to do... who do they think they are?

These louse companies are making a bad impression for all ecig brands.. they need to be stopped!

my 2 cents.

Luckily I bought my first trashy pv from the smoke shop, and it was cheap so not big lost until my 510 came in the mail. But recently my aunt ordered one of those free trials that they r doing on TV. And its the same one I brought for 10 bucks. I told her that the ones on TV aren't any good and they're going to take her money. So now she's worried and trying to cancel the order.

(Hi there - newbie starting to get her post count up)

This is a very good sticky. I didn't fall for any such "offer", but I am someone who reads the fine print when something seems very cheap.

One thing I discovered while surfing through lots of netshops was that vendors who have lots of text about how much you will save and how this is guaranteed to help you stop smoking are less likely to have technical details about what they sell, and are more likely to have higher prices or even this type of semi-scam going on. Very pronounced harping on just one or two brandnames (often their own) also seems common for these businesses.

And conversely, vendors who list lots of technical detail (that as a newbie you won't understand much of at first) - mAh of batteries, ml for tanks or cartomizers etc, physical dimensions - seems to be more competent. Vendors who openly sell "no brand" things (also, not necessarily exclusively) especially delight me, because you don't have to surf around much to learn that most things are manufactured in China anyway.
These shops seems to be much cheaper than the ones selling "Revolutionary!" and "Our exclusive!!!" and "Look how much money you can save!".

Which is a little weird - in many other sectors you have to pay extra to buy from a specialist (understandable, you pay extra for the know-how and their broad assortment of speciality goods), but when it comes to PVs it seems to be the other way around. Which is very nice, and probably because the PV world is still dominated by enthusiasts.
