I really like the satin finish. It gives some texture and is not a fingerprint magnet.
I opted for the satin silver, and to most it looks like a matte stainless, but the other colors look great too.

So the silver provari's are coated silver over stainless, not a blasted stainless finish?

The satin finish is just a media blasted stainless finish. It's not a coating.

If I recall correctly, Provape mentioned a high polished stainless version was coming soon.

Never really understood the old style chrome plated versions. Provape discontinued the plated versions because they weren't a durable enough finish. It's frickin stainless steel. When highly polished it looks just like chrome.

If you don't want to wait for the polished version, you could disassemble a regular satin version and polish it yourself. I've done two so far and they do come out really nice. Harplayr's right though....they are fingerprint magnets.

Yes, I believe that the Satin Silver is a media blasted finish of plain stainless steel.

I don't like all those colored satin finishes. Was hoping they made a shiny SS version.

Look here my freind...https://www.facebook.com/ProVape/ph...673698.-2207520000.1370455854.&type=3&theater They should be available in 2 weeks...

They're all SS. They used to have chrome, but discontinued it. Maybe if you ask they'll sell you one without any paint on it.

No they are a media blasted Satin Stainless Steel finish...NO coating! Paint where did you come up with that misinformation BS? lol:laugh:....

I have the satin silver as well, deffintly media blasted. I like it a whole lot more than shiny SS, every shiny ss or chrome mod I have seen or held are finger print magnets, one of my buddies has a SS vamo, he always complains about it getting sticky if he holds in his hand too much. I can't help touching and holding my provari.........I know, I know, I'll go blind.........anyways it would drive me nuts if it got sticky or I was always polishing out finger prints. To each his own.

I really love the Satin Silver finish. I would have chosen it had it not of been the cheapest color :D. I did cover it with an r2d2 jwrap but I do love the satin silver. Not much of a fan of the new shiny chrome finish. It seems like it would be more slippery. I'd rather not drop my Provari. Not that the satin silver is grippy but it seems like it has a less slippery surface than the chrome. But of course, to each his own :p.

Bwahaha awww no r2 for you :( I really think they should consider "copying" this idea it's very simplistic and does the job of recreating the characters and it could be replicated for wraps.:

They need the whole crew D: I know r2 is the easiest and most simplistic character but they did put just enough detail into each to make them distinguishable. That would certainly tempt me into having more than 1 Provari <.<. (btw those are iphone5 covers in case you were wondering lol)

What is the color material used for the colored ones? I thought someone mentioned powder coated?

It is a ceramic coating according to ProVape. I would guess it is probably the chemically bonded type rather then the heat bonded type, simply for cost reason. The heat bonded ceramic coatings are more durable but very expensive. Given that though, it would be an extremely durable coating even as it is, if it is a chemical bond.
