I'm very happy with my ego-t and ego twist, but was looking at the Vamo, Zmax, and Provari as potential mod options. I like all 3, and was just about to order the vamo when my husband (somehow, I don't know) actually became interested in the PBusardo provari review. After watching it in its entirety, he said "If we get provari's can we call them Valentines presents? I'm really tired of the women at my office giving me crap over us not doing gifts that day. They're already ramping up their scorned lady speeches." I totally thought he was kidding. Nope! Between the video and the office shaming we're just going to do it.

My only question is the battery life, is it all day good on a certain size? I have my ego's to mitigate the size issue, but if I end up loving it I probably won't want to carry around the big fat fatty one. I don't vape hard and heavy if that matters. A 1.6ml stardust is good from morning to night, with the occasional topping off if stressed or drinking.

Also is there a significant difference between silver and black besides color? Grip, propensity for scratching, etc? My ego's look perfect at a glance, but under the light you can see dings and stuff. Just wondering if provari wears as good or better.

That and I'm very excited to be on the verge of ordering, what goofy reason.

Great choice on an upgrade! I'm sure you and your husband will be happy with your choice.

I dont think you will have any issue with battery life even with the 18500's. I can go through over 5ml of juice each day and my 18650's can go for about 12-15hrs.

I have had a satin blue since late summer and the only area that shows any wear at this point is a spot above the button that I have a habit of scratching with my thumb nail as I watch TV. I just got a blemished satin black last week so I dont know if the color will have any effect on durability. The only blemish I can find are some minor machining marks near the battery cap unnoticeable at arms length, although you can feel them if you run your finger over them. As I was looking at them for any damage I did notice the satin black does seem to have a rougher finish, is it because my satin blue has been "polished" by my hands and pockets, or a difference in the coatings?

Hope this helps:)

Buzzsaw46, I'm glad to know the "blemished" ones aren't like a laser cut through the body and such. Saw the other thread here on them and came across comments elsewhere. I think I may just go that route so I can satisfy my inner miser. I'm a fan of the black, it looks less industrial than the silver to me. I think I'm just going to get the full sized one.

Good lookin out Zapped, will look for some 3ohm cartos and try a vivi nova too!

I doubt Provape would sell even a blemished mod that would reflect poorly on them. From what I have seen from others the blemishes have all been quite minor.

Right now I have a black Vivi Nova STV on my satin black ProV and it looks great. The STV is a flatter black, but they look really good together.

The red led is a bit harsh, I like the blue led on my blue better than the red on my black. So would second the led upgrade suggestion.

I love my blemished black. Only thing I saw on it was a tiny scratch on the battery cap.

I am starting to notice some thinning of the paint on the troughs running along the body though. I carry mine around all the time, so in my pocket its kind of to be expected (though it is usually the only thing in a given pocket).

I'm getting good life out of the 18500 batteries. One lasts me all day, but my vaping fluctuates quite a bit. I just always make sure to have my other battery charged. Also just ordered some 18650s and the extension cap.

If you want to keep using stardust type clearomizers you'll need to buy an eGo adapter. For the sake of convenience Provape sells them but they are 3x more expensive than other sites. You can save a few dollars getting the batteries else where too (RTDVapor has decent prices on AW IMR).

Got it in November, some where around the 20th (ordered it the 15th).

Its not bad, but if you look closely the steel beneath is showing in spots.

While I like those little troughs, I feel that a straight tube would've fared better. Maybe there is something to this new V2.5 design. Maybe next time I'll either treat it better or buy the matte steel. The black is too damned nice though.

:p

But I did buy 'er as a workhorse, and shes fulfilled that purpose perfectly. But I think I'm going to baby her a bit more.

I like the red because of the sith lightsaber similarity (lol) but it's kinda sinister. Especially on something the size of a provari for someone who may not know what it is. So far I've been lucky about vaping indoors at my favorite places, and if aesthetics count I want to play it safe. I think I'll go green, because I'd rather liken the color to Yoda than Annakin. Seriously, Hayden Christianson blech.

Edit: Just saw the black rubbing off post, hmm. I think I'll still do it and use any wear as an excuse to snazz it up bling style. Or ummm black sharpie. My current egos are pretty babied. In my purse (it has it's own pocket because of scratch phobia), in my hand, or on the pillows I toss off the bed before going to sleep.

As far as battery life goes, some of that obviously depends on how much you vape.

So far, I've been using mine exclusively with AW IMR 18650s (2000mah). I use standard or higher resistant single coil attachments, averaging around 2.8 ohms. And I vape those between 4.4 and 5.2 volts (again, depending on resistance and juice). On a standard work day, if I put a fresh battery in the Provari in the morning, I'll vape pretty continuously for 3-4 hours, then go to work. I only vape about as much as I would smoke at work, but for the sake of illustration, let's say I'd average 6-8 cigarettes during the course of my shift.

I'll go home and vape moderate-heavily for another 5-6 hours.

The next morning, my battery usually still has a charge of 3.7 volts +/- 0.1 I generally swap batteries out because I don't feel like carrying an emergency spare to work. On off days, I can get into the next afternoon without a problem before the warnings start flashing.

Now, these batteries are less than a month old. When they get up to 4 months or so, we'll see if they last that long. I also have 4 of them, and rotate through them evenly. I don't know if it makes a difference, but if I know I won't be vaping for the next 30 minutes or more, I shut the Provari off.

And lastly, I don't "speed charge" my batteries. I can charge them at 2 different rates, and I always charge them at the lower rate. I've heard from a few people that doing that provides a longer lasting charge. I don't know if that's true or not, but I haven't been in enough of a hurry to need a fast charge anyway. :)

And if all else fails, I have plenty of backups (eGos) when in a pinch. I haven't come close to needing them yet. Having 4 batteries instead of only 2 gives me a little peace of mind, even if I haven't really needed that many. The batteries have lasted me longer than I expected so far.

Edit: And I almost forgot. Congrats on moving to the Provari. You'll love it.

I'm curious to see the difference in battery life between the 18500 & 18650s, if I keep my vaping under some control maybe able to eek 2 days out of one. Having just ordered some 18350's a Mini is sounding better & better...gah this hobby!

Also I'm not really sure how worried about the paint coming off I would be. So far I'm the only person I've seen even mention it here on ECF. I'm also generally kind of rough on things (without even trying), and though it hasn't taken any serious falls (once or twice onto carpet) I've obviously had it in some sort of compromising situation. The paint on the rest of the body is still top notch.

Man I'm gonna be so ...... if I get the provari and then get owned by harsh FDA regs. Though there's something to be said for getting what you aspire to *now* before anything becomes unavailable. The pBusardo review mentioned being able to upgrade the electronics by sending it back, can anybody confirm/deny this? Pretty cool if that's true.

Edit: random question, but what about flying with a provari? Can you bring them in a carry on or do you pack them? I've had TSA people flip out over a 4oz tube of mascara, can't imagine they'd like a provari but I could be wrong.

I just took a trip and flew from O'Hare to Miami and back. I brought my Provari in the Caddy Case that Provape sells with two tanks and an extra 18650 battery. I brought it in my carry on and I put the closed Caddy in a bin with my phone, wallet, etc. through the x-ray machine on both legs of my trip. I wasn't stopped and not a word about it was spoken.
