Smoke by definition is the gaseous particles created by the act of combustion, as by-products of the ignition of oxygen and a fuel source, or something like that.
Since it's quite common for Vapor to be misinterpreted as
steam, maybe this will help those that don't utilize the dictionary.
We use vapor to distance us from what we have always called "smoking" of analogs. Don't get this confused with what the word and process
actually is.
