Do you find it irritating to use a passthrough ecig because of the cord?

I used a 1000mah ego pt for about a month before I got my Lavatube and Reo Grand and I loved it. It's nice to have it charging while at the computer and unplug it and go out and about. With 1000mah if you have a day that you don't have a lot of time at the computer...no problem because 1000mah will last all day or very nearly all day. I never once had it die on me!

I don't feel like a pt should be a portable device. Electronicstix.com has a simple 5v 510 pt for $10. If you are at your computer a lot it is an essential item to have. On top of that if you have never tried a high voltage mod it is a very very inexpensive way to see if high volt gaping is right for you.

A lot of people say it is not a true 5v pt but straight out of my computer I get 4.9 volts(which is 4.4 or so under load).

Its cheap and works great.

Haha it was a while ago! He has grown up to be quite a big boy! Thanks for the compliments!

Either way, getting yourself a nice Ego Passthrough (I recommend the 1000 mah) will be a great addition to your vaping collection. They are around $25, so you are technically getting a battery and passthrough in one. Not a bad deal!

I use the ego passthroughs as well. They are not true passthroughs. Yes, you can vape on the cord when the battery is completely dead, but they do not deliver the 5V that the USB power supply is feeding. You are charging and vaping the voltage that the battery delivers. It is nice to have the cord as a backup, but I mostly just charge one and vape the other. While it is ok to run a battery passthrough from your computer, it is not advised to run a true passthrough from a computer USB: I can draw too much power and burn out the USB...and possibly fry your computer.

Get a wall plug 2amp usb power supply.

My http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/244528-redneck-mod-passthrough.html delivers 5V at the atty. I rather like the flavor change that 5V delivers. I want a HV system, I'm just broke right now.

I am accepting donations.:D

If I were going to use a pass through, the last place I would hook it up to would be my computer/monitor/printer or whatever since they all generally cost a ton more than any e cig.

I have had atty's short and more than my fair share of ego style ecigs have a total meltdown. While the idea of being chained to tetherer is not my personal choice, there are some of you who can handle that. My preferencece is to not be tethereded and use USB headsets for skyping and speech to text dictation with Dragon. With a cable, I was constantly damaging stuff.

If I were going to use a pass-through, I would get a 5 v USB to 110 power supply and not put my PC at risk. These are small, very common, and inexpensive (~$10). You can even get big battery external power supplies (like those used for cell phones)and with a pass through have a cheap, multi-functional, big battery mod. There was (is) even a mod that is based on such a device.

Tonyorion, can you tell me where to get one of these to hook a 5V passthrough USB on?.. What is it called? I've LQQKed & LQQKed to find something reasonable that is small & portable to use so I don't have to plug into my computer. I'm scared I'm going to end up frying something. I've been using my computer the past several months with no issues, but maybe I'm just lucky.

Just wondering about this! I would appreciate your opinion! :)

I'm with you. However, I'm okay with code when I vape, I just hate when I place on my desk. I usually put my ego into pen stand but with passthrough, I can't. So I usually switch several normal batteries at my desk.
