Just wondering, how/if any if you are preparing for the unfortunate situation of tanks/liquids pretty much getting banned in the near future (yeah, I'm in Europe, and the risk of everything going to hell at some point during spring '16 is imminent).

I got 500ml of 72mg nicotine base in the freezer and an open 500ml bottle of 52mg that I'm using for DIY atm. I've also started stacking up on tanks (5 Aerotanks, 4 iSubGs plus my old stuff like EVODs) and coils (got about 200 of each for both Aerotanks and iSubs). Getting 1-2 new tanks and extra coils every month for stock. Going to wait till january to spend some serious money on more mods too just in case.

So - am I being wierd for no reason or am I just being smart? Discuss :)

I have a whole bunch of mechanical mods and different RBAs and I don't need anything more than batteries, Kanthal, and cotton on the hardware side. When it comes to juice, I primarily buy eliquid from vendors, but I do have 100mg nicotine in my freezer and I dabble in DIY. It would suck if the juice that I buy online and enjoy were to become unavailable to me, but I would still be able to DIY. I'm trying to perfect some DIY recipes and I will stock up on more 100mg nicotine when it looks like the hammer is about to fall.

Two words: rebuildable atomizer. Resistance wire and organic cotton are never going to be banned. Plus, it's like ten bucks for like 100 feet (30m) of wire or a near-lifetime supply of cotton.

I am considering stocking up as well, but to be honest, I have no idea what the shelf life is/will be. As a new vape, I have yet to dabble in DIY liquids, although it IS on my "To Learn" list.
There's folks over in the DIY forum who've had bulk nic stored in their freezers for several years with no signs of degradation.

Most coil heads i ever bought/accumulated was about 20, and that was too many. You never know when something better is going to come along. They all got used, re-built, then reused dozens of times. Now they've been relegated to my box of stuff i no longer use.

5 litres of vegetable glycerine £16.99

I'd never buy cutting liquids from a vendor, they charge far, far too much money.

Nicotine base - £16.99

I got enough muji unbeached cotton to last about twenty years.

Why ?. After seeing how much people are selling this stuff on ebay, and after finding a source who only sells it as a cosmetic product for £1.95 per pack (140 pads) compared to about £5 for 10 pads on ebay, i figured they may go out of stock because of high demand, i bought all this in case they do.

Got about half a mile of Kanthal wire too ranging from 24g to 32g, because it's what i needed at the time. I'd buy 50 metre spools at a time.

I bought quite a few devices and tanks "just in case". I have about 1-1/2 Liters of 100mg nic base and lots of flavorings. I also have a few homemade unregulated mods and I can always build more.

I think everyone should have some nic base stocked up, even if they're not into DIY right now, because it might be hard/impossible to get in the near future.

Maybe I'm a noob but how can they ban this stuff and not ban Regular Tobacco products? Is it fear of the unknown health issues down the line or what?

Fear of the lost revenue generated through the MSA agreement. They just wrap it differently so that the general public doesn't really know they need you to keep smoking so 46 states don't loose a ton of revenue.

The Master Settlement Agreement (MSA) is an accord reached in November 1998 between the state Attorneys General of forty-six states, five U.S. territories, the District of Columbia and the five largest tobacco companies in America concerning the advertising, marketing and promotion of tobacco products. In addition to requiring the tobacco industry to pay the settling states approximately $10 billion annually for the indefinite future

This subject has been extensively discussed ever since the first serious restrictive legislation began earlier this year.
As mentioned nicotine is the main vaping element that will quite possibly cease to be available in bulk. Wire, cotton, batteries, VG and PG will (hopefully) be unaffected. I have 1.5 liters of 72mg nic base in my freezer, which I estimate is good for about 10 years. I have dozens of attys, tanks, mechs and APVs, though I suspect that these will always be available from over-seas sources. E-liquid will also probably still be available from over-seas sources, but I'm highly reluctant to inhale something that I'm not 100% sure was produced under proper laboratory conditions.

Here is a link to the TW site dedicated to informing about and fighting Article 20 of the TPD. Their challenge has been heard, but so far thats it. Article 20 comes into effect in the first quarter of 2016.
http://article20legalchallenge.com/

The main points worth noting are:

2ml tank capacity limit
Restrictions on nicotine strength
Standardized generic “leak free refilling” systems
Draconian advertising restrictions
Toxicological testing of fluids and emissions for every product (every flavor, every strength) will present a disproportionate burden to suppliers that have the widest and most innovative e-liquid ranges. There is no precedent for this type of testing, and very little toxicological data available for flavorings “by inhalation”, so the costs are likely to be in excess of £10K per flavor and strength.
