It seems to be pretty common to chain vape, at least to begin with. Delivery of nicotine by vaping is more gradual than with analogues. Couple that with the fact that you have no end point with a pv (personal vapouriser) and it makes sense.

I found that 12mg had me chain vaping and I also needed a bigger hit at certain times, for example first vape of the morning. For this I used 24mg. I'm at the stage where I've settled in to 16mg, don't need the big hits, unless I have a particularly crap day at work, and don't constantly have a pv in my hand.

If you're getting the shakes or headaches then you're getting too much and need to cut back. Other than that I would say do whatever it takes to get you off the stinkies, you can look to adjust your levels at a later stage when you are over the hump.

thanks mrgiggly. 'having no end point' is an awesome way to put it.

i don't have any nic od signs. sometimes smoking bali shag i'd get that dizzy, paranoid feeling but not with the volt! i'm going to get maybe a 10ml bottle of 24mg and give it a shot. i just don't want to be increasing my addiction because to be honest, i'd like to not have to stop vaping. thanks for your thoughts!

Goodness gracious, is there really a juice called Bali Shag? lol (could be the reason foe the dizzy paranoid feeling :D).
I think very few people here are considering giving up vaping. I think most of us kind of take it for granted that we have given up one habit for another much nicer one.
Personally I think if you have given up smoking, don't worry too much about not being able to lower your nic eventually, because I'm sure you will be able to. Just get the stinky monkey off your back first, then it will be easy to slowly lower your nic if you want to, by cutting it in small increments with a bit of VG or PG or a mix of the two.

I agree with MrGiggly though, if you are getting the shakes etc. then you are probably over doing it a bit :).

I wouldn't say it necessarily ups your addiction, so much as it spoils you. For me I started out at 6mg and just sorta got used to it. Every once and awhile I'd try a friends 12mg and really enjoy the TH (throat hit) from it. Now I find myself leaning more towards the TH from a 16 mg juice. When I was at 6mg my PV was glued to my mouth. Now with 12/16mg I find myself vaping quite a bit less, not from lack of enjoyment but because I'm subconsciously getting all the nicotine I need at any given moment. But if your PV is glued to your mouth at 18mg and it concerns you, by all means try a 24mg juice and see if it's still glued there. :)

Well to try and answer your Question I must first say a couple of things! You already have an addiction to the nicotine from years of smoking so no issue there. You like vaping yes? so here is what you need to watch for when rasing the NIC level - Your heart rate...You'll be vapng more then smoking so caution that first and see how your taking to 24mg over the 18mg now and close to bed time try vaping a lower nic level or you'll have trouble sleeping (Trust me). 24mg is fine just see how you take to it being you will be vaping tons!!! I was doing 26mg and need to back off some and now I am happy at 11mg and have played with zero from time to time...Good Luck! :vapor:

Definitely jump up the nic. I started @ 36mg/ml & don't think I vape anymore than I smoked. ~2ml/day vs. 1 PAD. No cravings since I stopped the stinky sticks. I plan on dropping the nic level after another month or so to 30mg, then down to 24mg ~3 months after that... Hopefully I'll end up at ZERO in the future.

It is a familiar path.

I went to a store, well flea market kiosk really, and the owner let me try an Ego with 24mg. I took a few hits and knew a couple of things. Mainly that this will work as I could feel the nic and secondly I wanted far less nic in my juice !

So I started with 12mg and found as most here have that I had my Ego stuck to my face and while I vastly reduced my smoking I couldn't avoid 1 a day. I upped to 18mg and haven't had a cig since and find I am able to put the PV down...well occasionally. Truth to tell I found Bounty Hunter and haven't found the trick to stop vaping it. Not strictly true Boba's Bounty can make me stop vaping it but then I am stuck vaping that !

Guess it is a win/win really.

The nicotine level as sense is gained in two ways for vapers:
The first one is the nicotine level. As high is the nicotine level, the more is delivered to you and you feel ok with this.
The second one is to have pure and strong flavours that can do the trick to your brain. It is not personal experience but a fact from many hundreds of people here in Greece. They tasted strong natural flavours of fruits such as banana, apple, cinnamon cookies etc and they felt fine although tried to vape lower nicotine level.
So, as a conclusion, I think that you can experiment fine flavours through DIY and see the difference when you go fall down the level of nicotine you use to vape.

I've stayed pretty much at 18mg for the past couple of years. Occasionally I'll hit 24mg or drop to 12mg on a dessert flavor just for the taste. I've yet to drop to 0mg as it's like sucking air for me. The only time I vaped 0mg was when I went in to participate in an ecig study they were doing locally and I couldn't use my pv for 12hrs prior so I put on a fresh carto with 0mg to satisfy the habit but not spoil the study.

I would like to think that I'll stop vaping sometime in the future, but then again Alzheimer's runs rampant in my family and nicotine has been shown to help with that. My memory is already far from what it used to be and if vaping 18mg for the rest of my life keeps me functional, then I'll vape for the rest of my life lol.
