I thought about the surgery! I may try that! Hate to waste good juice! One of them was recently cleaned, so the 2 ml of juice will be clean too! It just wasn't pulling well

Why not? Worst case, you get juice all over your fingers. If the atty were still functional, you would've vaped it anyway. Not pulling well? It sounds like you just have to clean the carto.

That may be, but the little cup that holds the foam probably holds it in place a little better (see pic below - ignore the red arrow). Either way, whether they're from the 20th or 15th century, they work very well with minimal fuss.

I agree, easy to clean too.

I keep a smallish (3"x3"x5") half filled with cheap vodka at the desk along with a roll of paper towel. When things start slowing up. I break it all down and everything, save the batt, goes into the container, shake-shake-shake, fish out, blow out with compressed air, finish drying with a bit of paper towel - 5 minutes in - I'm done and vaping again.

It's too risky. Yes I've cleaned them, but it's hit or miss on the success, maybe to do with how much use before cleaning, but there again BIG juice waste! Some came out fine, but you don't know that till you put 2 ml of juice in!! And I'm NOT digging this clearomizer I've started using today!! I'm sitting here pouring it from the clearo into my carto!! I may have to give carts another try, being sure it's a good atty and that I have good stuffing!!

Edit: hey! What about carto stuffing?? I have plenty of THAT!!

What about a smaller carto? Or, can you just put a little juice in a carto to test before filling? If you switch back to carts, remember the biggest only holds about 1 ml, like the one goodtimes mentioned in this thread. I'm ok with even the smaller carts, but we're all different. If you do switch, I'll help of course. Maybe you need to start a thread and get help from the cartos experts? There seems to be a bunch. :)

As far as I know, the carto stuffing is about the same as cart stuffing, so may not help much. If you just want to try a cart, you can use some of that. Split out a piece a little smaller than cart, fluff and put it in. It's working if you can drip juice in, put cart on the side and not leak.

Well, I know the stuffing that came in the stock carts Is REALLY yuck! Maybe I'll try again with some pre-saturated carto stuff! The atty is the question. I have several, but they are stock and don't know how good they are. I do have a couple of non-stock so I'll assume they are better. Really an atty newb!! Should I rinse it first? Dry burn it first? I did experiment with it a little a few weeks ago.

Stock Joye attys are pretty good. The ones that came with Riva are more delicate but had an easier pull. I used the stock cart filler before getting blue foam. It's not bad, just doesn't hold much juice and then doesn't give it up.

Some attys come with primer, others don't. Folks don't like that primer fluid. I just blew out, vaped it, puff and blow out until all gone. There's a whole thread in the General Forum currently with cleaning methods. As long as you don't inhale the first few puffs, you're ok. Come to think of it, once the atty is cleaned, why don't you try dripping first, see if you like the taste with atty, before dealing with carts?

Did you perform surgery again?

Dripping takes 3-4 drops, only gives 4-6 puffs, time to drip again. Using carts with regular filler/stuffing only gives 5-10 puffs, again doesn't last long, thus many went to cartos. Using blue foam gives me about 1 hr, using bigger cart that goodtimes suggest should be twice as long. But everyone puffs different...

Sorry I disappeared. I usually shut down the PC around dinner time here, around 10, 11 pm your time.

Some folks say never leave attys dry, but my attys sit dry all the time after dry burning (I go with results of my trial and error). When using a dry one, I'd drip 3-4 drops on the atty bridge. The reason? This way, I don't have to wait for the atty to fully wick before taking a vape, which could take a few minutes if I leave the PV sitting vertically, batt side down. If I don't drip a little, it'd be a dry puff, not pleasant at all. When the atty is already wet, no need to drip-start.

1. fluff/filler into cart.
2. drip juice into cart, should stop when it looks slushy.
3. atty onto batt
4. drip 3 drops into atty if it's dry.
5. insert cart into atty. Ready to vape.

Lastly, tilt batt end down while vaping.

Edit: once atty wet, when cart runs dry, only have to refill cart with juice.

No (or less) taste and vapor, time to refill. Attyt is already wet, so only steps:

2. drip juice into cart, should stop when it looks slushy.
5. insert cart into atty. Ready to vape.

With that white poly filling, a regular cart will only give you 6-15 puffs, rough guess, pending how big a puff. That's why I use foam. Depending on your juice, the atty could last a whole day, more or less, before cleaning required.
