Just a curious question. I've noticed that my vaping style is not the same as smoking analog cigarettes. With analogs, I'll light one up, smoke it and be done for awhile. Usually I'll smoke an analog about every 45 minutes if I'm not at work.

With the e-cigs, I'm pretty much carrying it with me constantly. I take a vape or three whenever the mood hits, which is about every 5 or 10 minutes. I can't just let the thing "sit." It seems I'm in an almost constant cloud of vapor. If I were smoking analogs this much, I'd probably have major heart failure by now.

I'm thinking my 12ml nic juice is too low or I just like vaping better. Not sure which it is yet. :D

Also, I've notices I handle my e-cig more like I would a cigar than a cigarette. I'll let the first two or three puffs waift away and then inhale deeply on the third or fourth drag. Dunno why but it seems to be what gives me the most satisfactin from it.

I think you are discovering that vaping is not like smoking. The nic from grits, thanks to the chemicals, hits your brain in 7 seconds in a dose that is about 7-10 times stronger than vaping. So, in my case, it takes at least 4-5 long slow vapes (24mg) to equal one hit on a ..... Times 10 puffs per 1 grit equals 40-50 vapes. Times 20 grits equals 800-1000 vapes. Not quite possible (for me) to vape that much in one day. I usually vape about 400-450 times a day. That's still a lot of hits, but what happens is that I am trying to maintain a nic level, that is more slow to absorb from vaping.

So, along with missing those nasty tars, I have reduced the amount of nicotine I use daily. At the beginning it was difficult to do without supplementing with cigarettes. I later switched to SNUS and still use 4-5 a week. It adds (safely) the 'something else' that seems to be missing from vaping alone.

The way I see it, it's like being hooked to pain meds after a surgery. These pumps have a button (or bolus) that you can push when the pain gets bad and it delivers X amount of morphine or whatever you're on. After reading Sanford's post, I have a bit more understanding than I did. I guess it would be a pain injection versus a pain pump.

I don't vape like I smoked, and that's okay for me. I keep it with me, vs always having to find where I put my analogs. It would drive me insane. This is so much easier, healthier, cheaper, cleaner, etc. :)

Glad to see I'm not the only one who finds this takes a little different technique than regular analogs. Of course, with the variety of e-cigs out there, I suppose everyone comes into their own style.
Absolutely. Different atomizers even sometimes seem to develop their own personality differences, which require just a slight difference to work at optimum. (one will like being more wet, the other more dry, etc)

You'll definitely vape more than you smoke, the rate of absorption is much lower, there's more of a curve and less of an intense spike in the nic levels. This tends to lead to chain vaping or at least vaping what is perceived to be a lot. My best advice? Don't worry too much about it. ^_^

I vape much differently than I smoked. It is not unusual for me to be blowing vape out my nose while drawing the next hit into my mouth. I never use to smoke that way, I would draw that smoke into my lungs and hold it for a second before exhaling. It wasn't until I had been vaping for months that I noticed this difference. I guess I had unconsciously been learning the best way to get my nicotiene fix.

I switched to higher nic content (24mg) and notice i can finally treat my ecig like an analog.

however.. in the morning, i need to perform a long vaping session. Like ten minutes at least in order to get me set to vape as if it was an analog throughout the day. for some reason i require that long session in order to set everything straight with my body chemistry in the morning.

also depends what i'm doing. i notice i can go longer without needing to get my nicotine. i don't get all jittery and unable to think when i don't get my nicotine every 15 minutes. makes me think the absorption is slower so it may sort of hit me gradually instead of instantly.

but if i'm sitting at home, the need to vape gets pretty constant. i'll probably vape every 10 minutes then.

I'd totally go with that!

I chain vape where and whenever I can but I never chain smoked - only 1 PPD. But, I have also noticed I don't have that "to die for" craving first thing in the morning like I did for the analog - which I attribute to less nic in my system than I had before.

All great things for me :D
