Does anybody here think V4L is over-priced?

I don't think it so much that there prices are high, it's the shipping that is so high. 12.50 is not so high for juice but add seven dollors to it and it becomes almost 20 dollors for one bottle. There sales are great but it usualy covers just the shipping when you get done. No way does it cost 7 dollors for shipping on bottle and it comes in a evelope at that. I just wish they would drop the shipping down and ground shipping wouldn't hurt for thos who want it. I would buy why more. Where is that shipping money going anyway?

I do buy several bottles of liquid at a time because of their high shipping price. It's about the only thing I save up to buy in bulk.

their sales are awesome and they have them constantly, so I can understand why they mark their prices up a little bit. I've never had a problem with their batteries (besides one that came defective...), they're well built overall. I only buy their cool carts from them now and not their juices because a lot of them expire like a month after you get them...which sucks

It depends on how popular the juice is. The juice my wife prefers is not very popular. The juice I buy is one of their best sellers. I jst bought some juice from them a few weeks ago. Hers expires in October of this year whereas mine expires in January of 2014.

^True, they are called "sealed autos" but they still can get "juiced" if you really flood them, but they are more juice resistant now than an "unsealed auto."

Firefox, you are right, didn't notice that in the post above mine I made earlier that someone said the v4l sealed auto was the first, not correct, I am pretty sure the volt one was the very first. Then a few other companies too released some sealed autos though they didn't advertise it big. But I do think the v4l sealed auto has a better draw than the volt sealed auto, I have both.

I'm on the list and get all the sale prices and still think that 7 dollor is to much for shipping. I feel ripped off. I have vaped for 2 yrs now and alway would look at there juices but didn't buy becaues of there shipping. Passed up last sale because of shipping. Gave them a try last oct. and loved there juice. Just can't get over the pricy shipping.

Not sealed. No, no, no. They are drip protected. You can still get juice in them. No one should buy these new auto batteries believing they have the same protection a manual offers.

I was also aware of this fact. there is no such thing as a sealed auto battery as airflow is required for the switch. That being said, I only have ever shorted out one generation 1 KR8 due to liquid. So for those of us who are careful, the drip resistant autos make our careful filling even safer.

I have come across 3 different types of auto batteries in my 19 months or so of vaping. The original generation 1 with a hole in the center post that would make a black hole jealous. There are also autos with a hole the diameter of a needle in the post. Much more drip resistant than the former and seem to last a long long time. The third are the new Volts and Titans that have no hole in the center post.

Though, Firefox, for the record this thread did inspire me to check into smokeless image again. I found a v-day sale for them that got me a super duper deal on a bulk shipment of carto's. I got 50 cartos from smokeless image, 30 multi-colored end caps, an organizing/carrying case, some stealth LED Caps, all for under $70 with free shipping--- and they gave me a free battery (an attractive shorty automatic, purple with white led and rubberized coating) to go with it! Blew V4L sales out of the water. For that price, even with 38% off I would have gotten nothing but the carto's.

Hi Loveridden! :) Can you describe the draw of the Volt and the V4L according to your personal experience and which cartomizers you use with them? I am asking because I really like the (what I consider) the semi-tight draw of the Volts. I've never tried the V4L and I don't want to get anything airier! Thank youuuu!!!! :)

*Anyone else, feel free to chime in with your opinion on the draw of the Volt and V4L! Is the draw determined by the batteries or the cartomizers too??? have a good day everyone! :)

Unobstructed airflow will always be "better". Better meaning smoother, not superior. It's still subjective. The drip protected post moves airflow around an back up. The only real change it's made for me, is I need to get between the post and thread a little more with a tiny piece of moist cotton or towel. The tinier airholes in the side of the post do get clogged easier. Not a problem if you do maintenance on your battery once or twice a week.

The v4l batteries and others with wider airflow hole are a little airier. I haven't tried the titan yet. Snoozed during their presients day sale and missed the 40%off.

I have purchased most of my equipment from v4l and love it. I am, however, going to check out smokeless image for blank cartos and extra batteries. I have to keep reminding myself that I quit analogs to try and save money! Looking at my sig banner, and I am well in the red. Time to economize.

yeaaaah, I'm in the same boat. My break even date isn't until May and I know I won't make it that long without more purchases. alas. But yeah, smokeless does have a good price on blanks (discounts if you buy 10 or more 5-packs) and with free shipping. Carto preference is such a subjective thing, but I've had no problems.

Thank you Charlz for that explanation. Do you know if the cut-outs for airflow at the bottom of the connector end of cartomizers contribute to airiness or tightness of draw depending on the size of the cut-outs or are they a standard size for all cartomizers?

Typically they look standard size. I'm sure not every one is exact. If you get a cart thats too airy, you can cover the slots with a piece of tape. More important is the two vent holes in the battery thread. I accidentally widened one in a cleaning session and it made it a PITA for awhile. Eventually it tightened up through normal use.

From my experience, I prefer the easier draw. I wasn't sure if the Volts would be a good fit for me because of the "tighter" draw, but since I use low resistance cartos (Bloog style), it makes for a nice easy draw. Bottom line: I have no complaints.

I haven't had a problem with built up residue since I started cleaning my batteries twice a week. I don't use thick liquid, so that's also helps keep them clean.
