Looking to add a BF to my mod selection and was wondering about my choices. I have nothing against Reo's and will probly go with that just because of reputation and service, but are there any other fully mech bottom feeders out there? Preferably a metal case and 18490/500 sized so I can run an 18350 with a kick. Thanx!

You can always kick a Vmod XL as well, which it fully mechanical... Not all metal, but has stood up for a lot of people.... Here are some pics of mine that I kicked. Most people install brass sheeting into the battery bay, but I didn't want to do that. This way I can take it out anytime I want to and put the 18650 back into it.... I used a corrugated fastener that I cut in half for the lower part and it just slides into the spring at the bottom. It serves it purpose and can be taken out at any time if I so choose to....

Thanx for that. nice list. I was wondering about all metal ones so I wouldn't have to tie a wire to the ground spring on the kick. I think the Reo will be the one. Now to stalk the classies and start a piggy bank!

You are gonna love your bottomfeeder. If you get the mechanical you can kick it. They are available at REOSmods.com and when you order it, just ask Rob if he can make it kickable for you. That is how mine came. I love it with the dripping rba, and from your signature it looks like you are all set. It used to be you had to get one off the classies, but Rob is keeping up with the demand and has some in the store.

Sorry I don't do bottom feeders or box mods. Just not a good feeling in my old hands.

I feel like I missed something. Is this just a random proclamation? If it is, I think you should re-word it just a little bit (in the form of a question like, "Is there a feeder that is designed to feel a little bit better in an elderly hand?" or something like that) and give it its' own thread. You might be pleasantly surprised by answers that lead you to feeders whose creators did give thought in their designs to just such an issue.

Or maybe I just missed something. If so, please disregard.

He is reporting on his own individual experience. What needs to be re-worded?

Bottom feeders are great, but unless you get VV with a side button, just about anyone with arthritic or bad hands will tell you that the reach to the top button to fire it "can be" a problem for us. The taller the bottom feeder, the harder it might be, too, esp. when the squonk bottle is down a bit from that top button.
Of course, this can be true of tube mods as well........the key is finding a design that works if you have a handicap.

In VV bottom feeder w/side switch (reo, bogger box, etc.) is going to be easier to fire for old arthritic hands.

I have no idea why you objected to this post. What is your personal experience with "broken" hands/wrists, stiff and arthrtiic, or injured, by the way, with regard to mod testing? I can tell you that i've tested quite a few and actually have the handicap this poster speaks about. It matters a great deal. Maybe his hands don't wrap around the box mods very well, I dunno.

for older hands, sometimes metal is cold and for arthritic hands, this can be quite painful. I have to have a "cozy" or leather holder on my stuff. Wood is better for us. Also, size, shape and bulk all have to be tried out. When you have a handicap, you have special needs.

All that said, I still love box mods. :) Mostly because they sit up better when you set them down, don't roll, and sometimes are easier rather than harder to grip (for some people only) due to not having to close hand too tight down on them.

Probably because it's irrelevant to the OP's question.

OP, I don't know of any other metal BF's on the top of my head, and I'm so happy with my Reo that I haven't really been looking for anything else, in fact my second Reo arrives today. :)

Well, I'm at least 1 step closer to being ready for one, anyways. Picked up an A7 in the classies today, I'll use it A7oid style till I can afford a Reo.

What do you mean by making it Kickable? Aren't they already or is it something to do with being housed in a square body instead of a round one to make it difficule to kick normally? And does this "kick fix" need to be removable if I want to just throw in a battery without a kick for a lower ohm coil?

metal REOs are anodized. You have to scrape a little bit of the anodization off to make contact with the Kick. If you buy a REO from REO, all you have to do is ask and he will scrape it off in the right spot for you.

If you get any kickable 18650 mod, you will use an 18490 with a kick. Nothing stops you from removing the kick and using an 18650 again.

Hope that helps.
