Got me. I worry about the FDA here, and hope I can be an asylum seeker to live under the TPD if things in the US go south. I have no clue on an rda, as it not only may not meet volume requirements, but then you've got leak resistance that also has to be satisfied. As to mechs themselves, again no clue. But given the lack of protection circuity they might get antsy about just a metal tube and a switch. Unless sold as a flashlight handle.

The TPD is designed to limit the nicotine containing liquid and the delivery device (atty) only. Batteries and battery containers (mods) are not covered.
Due to the total ignorance of the compilers of the TPD there is a huge grey area when it comes to vaping related devices that do not conform to the standard eGo type setup. Typical bureaucratic half-arsedness !

As @ppeeble says, regulation only covers nicotine liquids, their containers and tanks. RDAs, Mods etc all are unmentioned (so unaffected).

Best advice, stock up on 2ml+ capacity tanks (if that's what you want) and get into DIYing your own juice.

I was concerned as the TPD effects the nicotine base, try to limit it to 10ml and under 20mg strength (Currently buy 500ml @ 72mg strengh). Luckily, because they have worded the TPD so badly and don't have a clue about the vaping market now, suppliers have already found a loophole where they can sell 72mg strength as long as it's 500ml or above so I'm completely unaffected :).

This thread has a lot of information. TPD begins to take effect (DIYers in for more expense)

Mechs themselves are flashlights without a bulb.

They only fall under the FDAs jurisdiction if they are marketed and sold as e cigs.
;)

Back when the regs were first announced, several popular Chinese sites actually slapped LED bulbs in attys on mod kits, and listed them as flashlights.

Great, easy idea. Will we get on the flashlight forums then?

Candlepower forums is one of the best on the internet for info on high end flashlights and batteries.

Most of our battery info was gleamed from CPF.
In fact, one could argue CPF helped jump-start the APV/mech mod trend.

Those guys were modding tubes and using 18xxx series batteries long before vaping.
