Either that or nicotine by itself is not nearly as addictive as they want us to think it is.

Nicotine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
+1

I've been home sick for the last few days with the version of the flu that's making the rounds. Until this morning, vaping really hurt my throat. I also use Snus, but the weather in my mouth is screwed up badly enough that it's kinda disgusting right now. I even slept for 20 hours on Thursday.

Aside from the misery of having the flu, I've not really struggled with nic-fits at all. I'm coming up on 90 days analogue-free, and this is (to me) just another proof that my quit from smoking is gonna stick this time. I am convinced that Nicotine is nowhere near being the boogy-man that the ANTZ make it out to be.

I'm still very new to this but early indications are certainly promising. I started with a 21st. Century Smoke disposable, on a whim, and it had an immediate impact. Smoking went WAY down. This showed me e-cigs were a viable alternative. The batt. died so I tried an Encore disposable and liked it as well, both were better than real cigarettes. Since there was very little available to me locally, I got a 21st. Century Smoke starter kit but almost immediately something went wrong and I got the burnt plastic taste/smell, so I returned that kit and ordered an eGo-t. I went 2 days smoke free and now smoke ~2 cigs a day, down from 2 PAD! I feel that with a little tweaking to my set up, those 2 analogs are going to disappear real soon.
Like many here, this was all kind of an experiment to me, I wasn't REALLY trying to quit. That first $10 disposable was a huge eye opener. I've made concerted efforts in the past with patches, gum and cold turkey, all of those failed.
It's still early in the game, but my "accidental success" is incredibly encouraging. Good luck to you. (and me.)

I haven't had one cigarette since I started vaping almost a month ago. Not one nic fit, nothing. So...yes

I'm getting close to two weeks without an analog. Now I can't even stand the taste of them. I had an "emergency" last week and bought a pack of Marlboro. I only smoked 3. I still have the pack.

I turned a friend on to the silver bullet and he's been mixing to find the right juice to be a daily vape away from analogues. His smoking has cut down more than 1/2 and he's sticking with it till its gone completely. Some people actually still miss some of the burnt paper and other chems. I dont' get it personally as when I tried an analogue after day 2 of vaping it nearly made me sick. You really taste all of the additives right away and it became enough to turn me away completely. My friend says right now the only really strong time he craves an analogue is when he gets really stressed/...... at a situation or immediately after a full meal. I think he'll soon realize with a good daily vape juice, even that can go away. Really needs to work on inner peace to but that is my opinion hehe.

In any event if you find yourself like this story, understand that even some heavier smokers here took up to 2 weeks of vaping and analogue slow down till it they were 100% vaping.

It's a process and I think you will succeed.

Good luck!

so far im mixing half day cigs (work) and half day vaping (after work ^^)... i already feel a lot better, tho it's a hard process to give up smoking... even tho it's just a switch from smoke to vape.
So far it's harder than i thought, because i always went out smoking (hate the smell inside) and now im vaping in my room... and kinda feel something missing. i'm really positive this feeling leaving me soon... otherwhise i won't be able to give up smoking 100% (someday :p)

Yes! Expensive, goofy newbie purchase arrived July 15th, and quit the next afternoon. I'd already decided to quit, wore a patch the week before while still smoking 4 a day, but found that vaping absolutely made the difference. I was ready to quit, needed to quit, and meant to quit pre ecig- but I wanted to still smoke, just not stink and slowly die from it and tired of throwing tax money to a government that was throwing it around like it was blades of grass in the wind.

:vapor: I got to keep the habit part of what I liked, lose the negative part, AND play with new toys and yummy flavors!!! Cool way to shift over to now wrinkling my nose at those stinky analogs. LOL

Just to throw my story in there. I was not set on quitting smoking, but it was in my mind that if vaping was good, that I would go ahead and make that hard call to quit. day 6 of having my vaping gear, I am day 4 on no smoking. (i really completely forgot i haven't smoked in 4 days already) I thought i was on day 2 or 3. Thats how much it is not bothering me to not smoke analogs. The first 2 days were a bit of a battle, only because me and my wife dropped the habit at the same time and our kids seemed like they were on the wild side a bit more than usual (maybe cuz we were not going outside) so we burned a few (less than 3 both days) and we were pack a day smokers.
On the money side I am down about 200 bux to get me and her into vaping... so a solo venture would probably run 100.00 the kit was cheap, but juice and carts, and carto's purchased to get a good supply system in the house since i can not buy locally is where the cost rose quickly. Also I spent more than I should have cuz I was antsy and excited about getting into it, and made some purchases on experimenting, possibly cuz i was nicc'in a little both those first 2 days lol.

Which helps you quit more, using a tobacco flavor or one off the wall? After 30+ years, I really hope I can quit poisoning myself.
I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I started out using tobacco for the first week or so. Then I tried menthol/mint. I wasn't getting the satisfaction I wanted, so I started surfing the web and found this forum. I did a bit of reading and found out about all the different rig's and juices. in the last 50 some days I have tried 16 different juices ranging from 12mg to 24mg. One I had to dump, because it gave me an instant headache. 2 that I had tried when they were "fresh" didn't taste very good, but after steeping awhile they taste much better. Now I don't care at all for the smell or taste of tobacco, so I go for all kinds of other flavors. Different situations call for different flavors! That's the beauty of a PV, you can have your cake and Vape it too! :vapor:

I started vaping with an Njoy Npro. After a couple of weeks i bought ce2r4 clearomizers and later on an egot. Now i use a bullismoker A2 on a custom made variable voltage box mod and i'm more satisfied than ever. I haven't touched a cigarette since the 8th of February 2011 and i never missed it. So yes vaping makes it so easy to quit smoking :D

I think it solves the addictive actions of smoking and smoking triggers - inhaling, exhaling, blowing smoke, holding a cigarette, smoking with a cup of coffee, on the phone etc. etc. As previous posters have said, it wasn't the absence of nicotine so much for me, but after 30 years of smoking, the rituals are hard to let go of.

eCigs have made giving up analogs soooooo much easier and improved my health at the same time. :thumb:

Hi All, i am just curious, does vaping really helps to quit smoking.
i mean, will you immediately give up cigarettes after you start vaping?

It worked very quickly for me. Since I have started using an ecig, about a month ago, I have only smoked 3 tobacco cigarettes and have not purchased any tobacco cigarettes in over a month. I didn't think it would be as easy as it has been. I still crave tobacco cigs on occasion but am able to use the ecig instead.

I highly recommend it as an alternative to smoking tobacco cigarettes. Good luck!!

I smoked 2 packs a day of analogs for thirty years. I tried to quit many times, but couldn't do it.

A friend at work bought the BluCig starter kit. It looked cool and just like smoking! I thought it might work for me so I ordered my kit. Received my kit on July 26, 2011 and started vaping almost exclusively, limiting analogs to 1 or 2 a day. On the morning of August 1, 2011 while having my first analog of the day, I thought, "This is it, my last analog." and it was.

Of course it only took a few days for the CONSTANT screwing with the little BluCigs batteries to drive me crazy!

I found this forum and after reading reviews purchased this kit that is really awesome for me:

Two Ego-T batteries from Totally Wicked
Ten "New Style" Clearomizers from Volcano (These are REALLY awesome in case you haven't heard!)
Backwoods Brews (Casablanca, Applewood, Backo and Malty Toffee)

I am vaping up a storm!
I don't miss analogs in the least bit.

It really was so easy to switch to vaping from smoking.
I am off analogs for over 6 weeks now and just can't believe how much better I breathe and sleep!
My energy level is awesome!

I forgot to add earlier that I simply didn`t even bother having another cigarette once my first battery had charged up an hour after the postman delivered my first device - I even surprised myself as I wasn`t even expecting it to wean me off them fully, I thought I might just cut down a bit.

The best part was no rancid stench in the room and all over everything (including myself) once I had a deep clean and tossed the ashtrays.

I can smell smokers coming down the street at 20 paces now, absolutely disgusting and I`m ashamed to think I smelled like that all over my clothes etc
