I just wanted to put in my personal experience because it is probably different then most people that started using E-Cigs. I actually have been chewing Cope Long Cut for about 8 years straight. I has been a can a day habit ever since, and since I live in the wonderful state of WA, were the sin tax must have originated from it is about an $8.50 a day habit. Not to mention the daily .... chewing I would get from my wife on a daily basis about how I am killing myself and its not helping our baby conceiving efforts. Anyways I tried doing the nicotine gum thing but that helped almost not at all. It probably wasnt the gum but more of my lack of efforts to be honest. Anyways I went to a smoke shop and bought a standard e-cig big name brand that worked Ok for about 2 days and then my batteries went to crapola. So by the grace of GOD I found ECF, and stumbled across Rick the owner of Atmos which is now Vaporalley and I have been off of chew since that day. So even for the people that are addicted to chewing this miracle device can help you to, I am the living testimony. Good Luck to All.

I'll throw my 2 cents into this thread ..

In my case it's defiantly a YES! After 20 years of smoking, with a few limited successes at quitting along the way, I got my first ecig and stopped instantly.

It's been 10 days now and I haven't missed the analogs one bit. There have been no withdrawal effects and I have zero desire to smoke anymore. I think I've broken the habit for good this time.

Major tobacco companies refer to cigarettes as "Nicotine Delivery Systems". Yes they do deliver Nicotine, along with a mess of other crap, I think I've found a better delivery system. I get what I crave, without all the crap.

Now I've just gotta stock up on more juice.

Quit smoking the day I purchased my ego. Wasn't too hard since I found vaping to be very enjoyable.

is there a common theme here???

I think this is my first post here, but I joined awhile back.
My story-
I had smoked for approx 38 yrs and was up to 3+ packs a day before quitting. I woke up several times a night to smoke. I rolled my own cigs and had to take at least 6 to bed with me or I wouldn't have one left to light when I woke up. I LOVED my cigs. I had tried quitting maybe half a dozen times over my lifetime, most often for less than a month, but one time got to 8 months before giving in. I had pretty much given up on ever being able to quit. Then in March of 2010 I had a brain aneurysm rupture they fixed with coils and then a few months later added more coils and a stent. Doc said I have to quit smoking or it will keep coming back. So over the next yr. I kept trying to quit. Seriously trying. I used patches, gum, snus, and still cheated constantly. I gained 25lbs in a yr.
In May I stopped at the local smoke shop for rolling supplies and they had the Smokebot ecig. I decided to try one on a whim. It was a terrible thing, batteries that ran down faster then they charged, but after a day or two I realized, very surprised, that I carved it MORE than I craved a cigarette! I started doing some research online into ecigs and got some decent equipment and juices. For quite awhile I still cheated, about a pack of cigs a week. In July I ordered some stronger juice, 36mg and easily completely quit smoking. I am using 24mg juice now and will be cutting back again soon, but I am in no hurry to quit the nic. My husband also quit with me, even easier and quicker than I did. I truly believe vaping is the only way I could have ever quit smoking. And it was EASY! And I am losing weight now, not gaining it!
I really wish decent ecig stuff was available locally. I know several people who would try it but they arent internet savy and dont typically buy online. The only local stuff is Smokebot or Green Smoke, and they are terribly expensive junk. Even my Dr. office was asking me about where to buy the stuff. They were actually excited about it. They asked me to show them how it worked, etc...

After trying several attys I have settled into using the 510 650mah batteries with a Clearomizer XL ce2 atty and love them. Hubby uses a Screwdriver MK2 with adaptor and the Clearomizer XL ce2 atty.
I have just ordered some 100mg nic and a few flavors to start mixing my own juice. Way cheap!

Reading your posts is making me feel more and more hopeful about quitting smoking. I just got my first e-cig and I'm very excited about it. Feels like a new "toy", but has the potential to be so much more. I want to quit, I think this will do the trick.

I think it will, too. Vaping has come a long way even in just the past year, and I think we've reached a point now where there are enough really good vendors and enough awesome hardware that I think there's something to suit everyone out there, and that if what you've got now isn't quite doing it for you, there's almost guaranteed to be some combination of hardware and juices that's going to tick all those boxes.
