The small flat rate boxes are great but they do vary in quality from batch to batch. I've noticed some are nice and thick and some are thinner. We put three strips of box tape on ours. Probably takes a chainsaw to open them on the other end but they get there in one piece. We also recycle our news paper and use it for packing...works great.

I like getting packages packed with newspaper because then I can read it! LOL

I work for USPS, it was jammed in a machine. Try to remember those envelopes are designed for LETTERS, paper items, not jamming in something a half inch thick or more and calling it a day. Dell your supplier to spend the extra 50cents and use a flat rate BOX!!

FWIW, USPS has always been voted the "gentlest" of the major shipping services. I used to ship Gaileleo thermometers all around the country, in a priority box wrapped in Bubble wrap inside. NEVER, did I have one break (they're all glass filled with liquid with more glass inside....

UPS and FEDeX treat packages like footballs...... This really was the senders fault.

Oh, also, only the Postal Inspectors can open first class or priority mail deliberately to inspect, and only if they think its illegal. Anyone can open a "media mail" package to inspect for any reason.....

So, last Friday I decided to take advantage of TW's 20% off sale and bought 30 801 atty's. The price was too hard to pass up, and I didn't even have to worry about delays in customs. I got shipping notification on the 24th stating that electronic information was received. I had emailed TW to see if the package had even left their shop yet, and Nikki told me it had, and provided me with an update. Then I checked the tracking and saw this:

I received my package yesterday, it was in a USPS flat rate envelope. The package looked like it had been ripped open from the middle of the envelope and torn in several places, almost like it had been "checked", then it was retaped. I did mention to TW that they should be packaging these items in a flate rate box, it's the same shipping price is my understanding, and would offer more protection.

Anyone else ever ran into this??

I just received my domestic TW envelope today. And that's all it was, an envelope. Torn open on the top seam. No wonderful Titan, extra empty carts, or 2 USB chargers. Empty.
Very lame! There's just no excuse for that. Maybe you should ask TW to ship in the flat rate box...?

Lame and depressing. I'm looking forward to my conversation with them in the morning. This thread is pretty old so not many responses. I was hoping someone would chime in with something resembling a similar experience and what I can expect. I'm hoping for, "man, that sucks, the new shipment will go out today", but I'm a pessimist.
