Finally got the chance to make an order. I have been away for a while. Looks to be a certainly worthwhile upgrade. Things were going great with the Rhodium but the new design should make cleaning even easier, and the copper looks great on it.

Noticed Fluke is an Aussie and has a Nitro - great rba

Will report back on my findings with the switch - I would like to do some comparison tests with it as well.

Installed the Lord's upgrade and it's a completely different mod. I haven't been able to put it down. The new tactile button click has to be felt to be appreciated and the consistency in each pull is SERIOUSLY noticeable.

This piece always had a special place in my collection because it was my first high end piece (before that I had a puresmoker icon and legacy) but now it's definitely my best performing mod. I have 2 authentic Kings and am authentic hammer… just gave my dad a bagua… none of the listed mods comes close to the dominus now. If I could only have one mod it would be the Dominus with Lord's upgrade bar-none.

Gonna be getting that V.1 tube this week and then hopefully that dripper drops.

Great write up mate. I am glad you like it so much, it confirms my own beliefs in the mod. I am still waiting on my lords switch upgrade (shipping to Australia takes time). It is not just the mod that makes the dominus great, its the brilliant service as well. Knowing that David stands by his gear and is constantly looking at ways to improve and evolve is another great reason to be part of this club. I too owned many fine mods, not many stay in the collection, but the dominus will always remain. Now its time for the dripper and the tank to surface. Good times ahead.

David is the man. You're going to be shocked at the difference the upgrade makes. Looking forward to your testing but I think it's going to be a confirmation of awesomeness.

Well, when you can try before buying, it always help you decide, but the ones I got to try, of which there was several, all already had the switch upgrade as one of the guys I the Vape Bar is a service rep for Dominous. Tried many other mods (originals) and the Dom was the best of the lot, and it wasn't even what I was looking for. I was looking for an original bottom fire and out of the all of them the Mustang had the best flavor. The Dom equaled that flavor and hit harder. Probably will end up with 2-3 more.... that darn clickity click sweet fire button is awesome!

Dropped .2v under load so it's pretty efficient!

Wow .2v drop under load is brilliant! I know there are a lot of variables with vault drops though. I tend to go by taste now. May i ask what batteries you were using and what RBA and ohms you had. Thanks for any help. I hopefully will have mine by tomorrow afternoon.

garhh really thought my upgrade would have arrived today. Australia post can be a gamble, sometimes great and sometimes not so great. Want to try this click click thing everyone is talking about. How did you guys go with assembly? Obviously i have taken mine apart a few times but i have heard the new setup is a lot easier.

I found it easier to assemble the upgrade kit than disassemble the old one. The upgraded negative contact is screwed in, while with the old one you have to unhook a spring to get it out. As you have disassembled the old one, you should have no troubles. Hey, it even comes with the Lords Wrench. It's all the tooling you should need to get it done. Nice touch, imho.

It arrived! Ow but no time right now to install (dinner with the mother in law). Hopefully will get back reasonably sober and be able to install it. Thanks for the tips guys - Ill report back...

Edit:

Ok got back early (thank god). On first looks - The button is thicker, as in the plate that your thumb or palm actually hits. This is a great improvement as it just looks and feels more solid as well as feeling better when touched. Installation was a breeze and it will certainly be even easier than before to disassemble for cleaning.

First: Love the look of the copper with the stainless steel - even more so than the gold and silver ones i have.

Second: now i know why everyone was saying "click click" - it definitely makes a clicking noise and feeling when pressed. I like this and i dont (hard to explain), will probably just take a little adjusting to. Adding to this though - Because of the new magnet and switch the button jumps to the on position then jumps off so there is no middle ground anymore - I really like this feeling and have not experienced this with any other mod i have owned.

Third: Screwing down the top cap (with a battery inserted) requires a lot more pressure. This is fine but i am worried it may slowly grind markings (dents) into the top connection. I believe i have screwed the bottom post in fully. I could be a little nit picky here. - Would like to hear others opinions.

Fourth: Wow! it hits... it hits hard. The performance has drastically improved. Now the dominus was no slouch to begin with but this certainly is one of or possibly the best hitting device i now and ever have owned (this is going by taste - not done a test yet).

I certainly now know why so many were talking about this upgrade and i wish i had not been away for so long and missed the official release. I love how David decided to mod the device we all know and love instead of releasing an entire new mod (honestly i probably dont need any more new mods). This mod deserves all the praise it gets. I hope Todd gets his hands on the upgrade and reviews it (Im going to ask around about this). Overall... the upgrade is a hands down winner and no brainer purchase for anyone with a non lords edition dominus fecit.
