Man, what an awesome group of people you guys are! I expected maybe a response or two by tonight!!! Lots of good information here, but a funny thing happened on the way to purchase my new E-cigs: I told my wife I was doing research, and about to buy an E-cig to help with the not smoking, and she just gave me a funny look and said "you can't"!

Turns out that my Mother and Father (also smokers) found them in a mall while traveling in Florida, and bought me a 510 kit for Christmas, they also bought one each, for themselves. So it appears that we will all be quitting smoking, and starting vaping together!:D

This leads me to some new questions though, that I will ask in a new post in the forum (titled 510 questions). Once again Thank you All so much for the quick and helpful answers!

Obligatory:

E-cigarettes are not a smoking cessation device, and as such cannot be advertised as one, et cetera et cetera... legal mumbo jumbo...

I hope they got a good deal on their e-cigs. Some places charge too much for inferior products.

I haven't smoked an analog in [check sig]... of course I'm still on 24mg juice, but my next order will be 12mg. Haven't wanted an analog since I started, and don't want to go back.

If you're looking for ease-of-use, it's hard to beat the KR808D-1. I got the Vapor4Life version of it (the Vapor King) and have been very pleased with their selection and service. Have a look at their forum here in the Supporting Suppliers section for feedback, tips and tricks, and discount codes. It only took me 3 days to quit traditional cigs after I received mine, hopefully ending a 40+ year habit.

Whatever you choose, best of luck to you - you'll be amazed at the difference it makes in your life!

Good for you. I, for one, found I wasn't quite ready to go down to the next nicotine level after my first supplies ran down. I switched to a lower level too quickly (since I'd already purchased it) and found the loss of throat hit disturbing. I was chain-vaping like a madman. I added some good menthol (0 nic) which gave me that throat hit and eased the switch tremendously.

For what it's worth, my doctor said not to worry too much about cutting down the nicotine too quickly. Nicotine by itself (not talking about toxicity, just inhaled) isn't much more harmful than caffeine. It's everything else that's so terrible...

Glad to hear it! I think you'll be happy with the 510. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Xhaler so I can try the 510 at 5V and compare it to the 801 and 901 atomizers...but I'm thinking about ordering a few of the "disposable" 510 clones from madvapes.com for $9.99ea as Christmas presents.

One recommendation for you as a new vaper: Don't get too attached to the idea that it must look like a "real" cigarette. For the first couple of days its nice to be able to go out to the smoking section and feel like you "fit in", but once your sense of smell and taste start to return, being around the smokers won't be quite so appealing. I still go to the smoking areas...just not as often: Now I like using a 510 with a metallic battery and purple LED specifically because it DOESN'T look like a cigarette so people recognize that I am in fact NOT smoking indoors (my state has an indoor smoking ban).

Also, don't be afraid to try using a manual battery. Pressing the button does not make it feel any less like smoking but they have the advantage of giving you more control of the vapor output and the batteries are less finnicky. The further away I get from analogs the more I find that vaping is becoming a different kind of ritual. With analogs, pulling one out of the pack and lighting puffing on it and pushing the air out of my lungs and away from my body and then flicking the .... away when done became so habitual that I could smoke several analogs without even realizing it. Now I'm learning new habits with my PV: Choosing a flavor to match my mood, filling carts/dripping/change batteries, then enjoying a good quality vape where I don't so much suck on it like the cancer sticks but "sip" the vapor as slow as I can and allowing the vapor to linger a little rather than fighting my body trying to rid itself of poison. The throat hit still makes me cough occassionally, but its nice to be coughing as a reflex rather than because your lungs are so gunked up with tar.

Yeah, I think I'll order one more round of 24 mg. It's not that I want to get rid of nicotine because of health benefits. It does cause strain on your heart. The main thing I want to do is not have a complete and utter nic-fit every time I can't get my fix. I require too much atm and I want to get rid of that, and I have a good support system in place. If I get .....y, my gf takes care of me ~.^

I tried not drinking a morning coffee for a few days, and realized I was an ........ Sue me. Basically I thought about that and decided that cutting both out at the same time might not be the best idea. (I want to have friends when this is done and over)... also, I don't want to feel like a fiend IF (and only IF.. won't happen, shouldn't happen if the world isn't controlled by idiots and bigots) these things get TEMPORARILY (days-years) banned by IDIOTS. If I can get myself down to a few rounds of vaping over a day in lieu of constant chain-vaping when I'm at home (It feels good dude), then I should be able to handle the occasional "get my fix from SNUS or w/e else I can w/o actually going back to analogs" lapse.

tl;dr Sorry for the longwinded speech/rant/reply

Also,this ^

Once I find the flavor I need, I'll be better off. Sitting around smokers sucks. However, they're really more interesting people (that I know/have known for a long time) so I can't ditch them. I do sit farther away though. Cigarette smoke stinks, and my game isn't as good when I smell like a cigarette... Being a vaper, I have more confidence... I'm not kidding when I tell you that more girls talk to me now than before I quit "smoking"... much to my gf's chagrin.

There's a lot of good advice on here, I will give my input as someone who really wanted to have everything look and feel like a real cigarette. I am not a supplier.
We (hubby and I) started with the Blu cigs. You have probably have read the bad reviews, and I will agree that the customer service is crap. My husband got a bad battery and we still haven't returned it because of the loops they make you jump through.
Pros: It does look and feel like a regular cig. With an automatic battery you can even walk around with it dangling out of your mouth (if you hold it some with your teeth lol). The Blu system is fairly easy to use with the charger pack and the starter kit comes with everything you need to get going.
Cons: The automatic batteries are very sensitive, they will stay on with sound or wind. My husband is a drummer and killed 2 batteries in one session. It is difficult to get the Blu to feel like a real cig without some extensive and time consuming modification. The cartridges don't drip right and you have to take the filler out and use something else..which means you're going to be refilling carts to make it work right. I do like the Blu, but I found that it is actually more time consuming to use. It felt the most like a real cigarette to me, and I miss that sometimes.

We also have a 510 with a manual battery. Heavier/bigger than the Blu, better vapor production but the cartridges still need modification to get the best experience. I load a bunch up, and some come with silicone caps which is handy so they don't leak. Battery life and quality were better. Still had to recharge batteries every 3-4 hours and unless you are at home this is difficult. You can also get a USB device that hooks in to your computer, bypassing the need for a battery but this only helps if you sit at a computer all day.
The down side is you have to buy a portable charger separately. You also can't vape "hands free" like you can on an automatic battery, you have to press the switch.

After a while we decided we really didn't care if it looked like a cigarette, the vapor was tasty, it satisfied the urge to blow smoke out, and took care of the nicotine fix. My hubby bought then built a juice box. Looks like you are "smoking" a pager lol. It has been my favorite so far. Batteries last almost an entire day with heavy use. It helps me a bit to move away from a traditional cigarette looking device. At first it was important, now I want to have something that satisfies the urges and doesn't look like a cigarette. Funny how things change.
