Hello to everyone and good morning! This question pertains to what I can connect the dongle to. Since I bought my dongle, I really hate to deal with my laptop. I have a usb cable with the small plug for mobile devices and a full size usb port on the other end that I could plug the dongle into. Before I attempt this, I wanted to make sure that it won't damage my tablet in any way when running on the lowest voltage while the tablet is plugged into a charger. Thanks in advance!

Ive hooked PT's up to computers and such that COULDN'T handle the power....but still never damaged it either. You'll just know by the lack of power. People say it could happen, but I've hooked up crazy strong PT's to computers where it barely fired it and my computer was still fine afterward

Hmmm. I don't think I will chance it. I'm way too hooked on my tablet and I don't think I could live without it  I have a charger that has a usb port that I can probably use instead. I hear that they don't give a lot of power, but it will probably be more than a tablet.

For the dongle, I found that you need a 5volt, 2amp charger.

This exactly. I picked up several 4 usb port wall warts at amazon. They work great. And that way I can keep my dongle plugged in by the bed and my phone charger and ego passthrough chargers are all there.

Okay, I have tried both of my USB chargers and the button will stay lit when I hold it down. Once I put a carto in it, it will only flash. This is at the lowest setting. Both of the chargers are 5 volts. Burns Erin, I see that the one you linked says it is 5 volts and 2A. Mine appear to be .5A could that be the reason why they won't work?

That would be the problem 2A is the min for most if not all PT's w/o inline battery

Okay, that makes sense. Right now I have an old computer that doesn't work but will turn on that I am using. It's a slim style computer so it's tucked under the coffee table lol

Maybe I'll look into a power cord with usb ports for extra power plugs, too.

Thats is it exactly, had that same problem with one of my older usb wall converters. Took me forever to figure out. You can probably pick up a single one fairly cheap at most electronics stores our departments. I just like the one I linked to because it is sturdey and will handle four things at a time.
