Would you believe that out of all the stuff I have laying around this is still my favorite vape!

That's at 8 watts, 2 amps on that little 14650 battery (that PV is almost 4 years old)

In 1973 my friend Jack bought one of the new Quadrophonic systems. He tried to make the salesman promise that nothing new would be invented.

Thank you for the public service announcement.

You know what would be really dumb?
Buying a Sigeli 50w or 100w device this fall. We all know that the 150 and 200w devices are coming out next spring. The only way I can see to future-proof your purchase is to hold off buying anything until the gigwatt-range devices come out in Q4 2021.

Putting aside the high power, low power debate and speaking as someone who watched the advent of Sigelei onto the world market, whereby it was flooded with shoddily built devices on a production line rivalling that of Ford, I can only wonder at the OP and its apparent blind faith.

More so when I recall the debacle that was the highly dangerous Sig 20 and its even more dangerous amendment. Back then I vowed never to buy a Sigelei product again. Now I know time is a great healer and never is a long time but to date I have had no reason to change my mind.

Sorry but what was the "debacle" and what was the "amendment"

50-100 watts is silly. I find 7-9 watts works great for me. That being said, I'm going to get the new Smok BEC Pro 50 watt. Only because its bluetooth and can program it with my phone. I think think thats pretty cool. I'll never run it at 50 watts.

See we're all different. I have no need what so ever for a vaping device that can be programmed via Bluetooth. I think that's just ridiculous, but I suppose there is a market out there for that and they will sell. To each their own, right?

Sorry but what was the "debacle" and what was the "amendment"

The original version had live switch and continual firing issues. There was no safety recall or even warnings from Sigelei and the eventual amendment was even more dangerous. The whole mod was permanently live so if you screwed an atty into it, it would continually fire but worse, being as the whole mod was permanently live, if anyone put it in a purse or pocket along with keys it would have created a hard short and the consequences thereof. Again, nothing from Sigelei and finally version 3 arrived that had a plastic surround to the switch which did nothing for the voltage drop but at least it saved owners blowing themselves up.

Googling 'Sig 20 issues' will give you some idea of the problems at the time.

I like em all. I've got more than a few mechs, a couple of Reo Grands, a Hana 30w clone, a Segelei Zmax flat top, a GLV Super Mini with a carto, many RDAs, a couple of RBAs, and a couple of Ego twists with IBTanked tanks at work.

    Wait, what were we debating.....?

I don't need high wattage and huge clouds - I just need to stay interested.

Baditude said it best: Whatever keeps you off the smokes.

I only have two mods and while im still pretty new to vaping I really don't think one will take over the other (Mech vs regulated) I look at it the same way I look at cars. There will always be those people who prefer older cars for the more "raw" experience that requires a bit more know how. A drivers car if you will. Then there are the people who prefer their higher end more technologically packed cars that are quite fun with nothing more than the turn of a key.

I use my provari and aspire mini when I'm out and about or at work. That is my comfortable and practical daily driver.

I use my Tree of life and stillare when I am at home or looking to tinker and try out a new build. That is my weekend warrior car.

They both serve different purposes and will attract a different group of people. I honestly thought I wouldn't like mechs or RDAs because I originally had just wanted something that i could press a button and have it work time and time again with very little effort or know how. I gave mechs a try and ended up loving it, but it didn't replace my provari by any means.

I fire up my Sigelei Zmax V3 here and there. It's a great backup PV, although it's a little longer than my Provari V2 with the same atomizer. I have 18350 batts and have tried them, but I only get about 2 or 3 hours from an 18350.

What I really want is a VV/VW 18650 mod that is no longer than an 18650. I'm probably describing a mech with a kick, but is that as safe as a true variable mod? Something that will fit in my jeans pocket and not poke out when I sit down would be good.

Better battery technology and smaller electronics, coupled with new atomizer tech is what it will take to create a shirt pocket sized mod that vapes well, fits in a pocket, and has a compact tank that holds hours of juice. MVP 2 is a start, but it's not exactly miniature. VTR with its side mount tank is a stretch in the right direction.
