Don't give up on the Evod, it sounds to me like you just have some issue with your coil. If you have a new one, replace the coil. There could be some wick missing which could have happened when you cleaned it. That would make it flood. Make sure it's tightened securely. The Evods are excellent devices, it is most likely you are just having some problem with the one you are using.

Check your coil for tightness as everyone says, and check your base to be sure it is screwed into the top tightly. Don't over tighten the unit on to the battery as it will cause leakage/flooding. If you are still getting flooding after this and you have a spare coil, go ahead and replace it. I would recommend keeping the old coil for cleaning, as I can usually reuse my evod coils 3, 4, 5, or more times before the wick degrades to far.

Also, evods aren't for everyone. Never a bad idea to pick up several different delivery devices and find the one that makes you happy. I love my evods, but I know several people that enjoy cartomizers, cartotanks, or top wicked devices like the T2, Vivi mininova, or ce4/5s.
