Go for it but keep a little around. Rotate 0mg and 6mg until you know you can be okay without it. Then just vape 0mg until you can break just the habit of vaping. The mental part is the hardest...good luck to you and please keep us posted. You'll prevail. I went 4 days without vaping just to see if I could (was at 12mg). The only thing I craved was the flavoring...the tasty flavoring. If it wasn't for that, I could have quit all together.

I did quit for awhile after vaping zero. I still needed something though--bought a plastic cigarette from online--used it for a couple of months and then quit--it really did help!! It has a wintergreen flavor something in it.... I did return to vaping though--don't get rid of all your stuff! I keep the plastic ones in case I get there again!...I did also vape zero for a couple of months.....now I am back on 6 mg.

wow, thanks for all the encouragement. I'm going cold turkey and see where it takes me, if I need to go back to 3 or 6mg, I'm still far better off than when I started this journey. If I had never found this place, I'd probably still be smoking the analogs. I know they can't advertise vaping as a smoking cessation tool, but I think it's the best one available plus the support from this forum is invaluable.

Honestly, I wouldn't feel all that terrible if I continued to vape, I actually enjoy the experience and the gadgets and vaping does get me up and away from my desk several times a day since I still go outside and have a walk every time I vape. :D

A few asked if I get any throat hit at 6mg. Well the answer is some, but not much at 80/20. The sweeter flavors make that not such a big deal since I have a sense of taste now. When I was vaping tobacco flavored juices, the throat hit was a must.

Best of luck with it Stone! You can do it and as you said, you have a backup plan if needed that will keep you away from cigs.

I've been vaping 3 - 6 mg since late last year. I DIY my juice and have been making my last few batches at zero nic and doing well with it. It's really surprising me. I smoked for 37 years and have been vaping about 10 months now. I think the addiction to smoking was much greater than the addiction to nicotine for me.

My plan right now is to transition to zero nic juice and then to reduce the amount I vape. I'm at about 3 - 4 ml a day, a bit higher than when I was using more nicotine. I have no desire to quit vaping this year, but getting to the point where I vape when I feel like it instead of because it's what I do regularly might be nice. I suspect it would also really enhance vape sessions, sort of like smoking a pipe occasionally.

While technically this is true, the hospital that I work at (i'm a nurse) has quite a few doctors/nurses that used to smoke analogs and they do "mention" to some patients that vaping is a worthwhile alternative. Of course it will never be officially documented as such but for some patients with long term lung diseases and an even longer habit most healthcare professionals support vaping as a smoking cessation tool.

Me personally I used vaping and Wellbutrin (anti-depressant FDA approved for smoking cessation) to finally quit the analogs.
