I was just thinking not too long ago how losing a battery would suck. It just happened. Now I'm in full panic mode. Not good for someone with panic attack disorder and GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). The thing won't hold a charge! It's not even a month old. It's a Riva 510. What's the normal shelf-life on these things?

What am I going to do while my one good battery (knock on wood) is charging? Can these batteries be salvaged and made to work again?

Thanks, I'll do that. My supplier is in CA and I'm all the way across the country. It could be awhile before a new batt gets to me from Liberty-Flights. I'm going to make my husband take the check book and debit card with him to work tomorrow so I won't be able to go get a pack of smokes if I can't vape. I don't want to throw 19 days clean down the toilet. The thought of picking up an analog right now seriously makes me panicky.

To answer one of your questions, the Riva Batteries have a normal life of 200 to 300 recharge cycles. The Rivas I had lasted for 8 months of daily use before they started to take longer and longer to recharge them.

Your battery may not be dead. It's possible the center contact got pushed in just a little bit. See if you can get a very tiny screw driver or something in there and pry it up just a very very little. Uh, be sure not to be pushing the button while you are doing this.

And to echo what others are saying, always have back-ups for everything: Batts, attys, cartos, juice, charger.

And then get some back-ups for your back-ups.

Meanwhile, if your one good battery goes down before you get your new ones, I think most 7-11 stores carry e-cig kits. They won't be the quality you are used to, but will keep you off the analogs till your new gear arrives.

I had 4 Riva batteries and was worried about them all dying on the same day:) So I bought a 5 volt passthrough and 2 amp wall adapter from MadVapes. It was @ $25 for the 2 things and it made me feel more in control knowing that as long as there was electricity in the world, I could vape and not fail. My husband smokes and there's cigs in the house so caving in was always on ym mind.

Pick up another Riva kit too! They are only $29 and in NY, that's the cost of 3 packs of cigarettes over 3 days !!! My 4 Rivas are still going strong 9 months later and I now let friends and family borrow them to give Ecigs a try, since I've upgraded to a variable volt mod.

Junk is junk with or without a guarantee.

I carry at least three batteries in fully assembled ecigs and the batts typically last four to six months. I don't take care of them very well other than trying to keep them clean. I don't worry about how frequently nor how long I charge them. I drop them all the time with the only problem being the caps that cover the LED pop off.

i now have three batteries yet (stupidly) only one charger... so pretty much as soon as one of my batts kicks, i pop it on the charger and grab another one. it's like this little cycle. i really need another charger though cause if i lose that one i am SCREWED lol

Get a Kensington 4-port USB charger from amazon.com.
