I am CRACKING UP RIGHT NOW. I meant to tell you (Kat) to please not make a big deal of this, it's freaking "four". Not "ONE", or any other significant number, but I think you were paying me back, weren't you?
@Katdarling : Do you forget ANYTHING???
@Wharf Rat : HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laughter so hard that tears flowed. NOT kidding. WELL played!
@AndriaD :
"I do not vape with my display-screen. He who vapes with his display-screen has forgotten the face of his father."
I actually came on to post a very short little something, for newbies to (hopefully) see and hang onto (assuming they needed it). Just inspiration that it CAN be done. I was going to name the thread, "The Decision". Being that it truly is just "four", and almost a throwaway (except for Kat's great intro, and Wharf's marvelous "retrospective journey", I think I'll just bury it here. To be seen by just a rare few, but a rare few who are truly appreciated.
Thank you, all.
Please don't feel obligated to read my drivel, but do allow me to present to you -
The Decision
November 13th, 2011, 8:00pm (almost exactly four years ago).
I walked outside and smoked a cigarette, no different from any night. Everything seemed normal. What I didn't know at that time, is that it was the last cigarette I'd smoke, possibly forever. HOPEFULLY forever (are you listening, Uncle Sam???).
At around 2am the next morning, I was awoken by numbness in my right foot. The foot that doctors told me they'd be cutting off, if I didn't quit smoking, maybe a year earlier. It scared the YNW out of me.
I said to myself, "You NEED to quit smoking. Not next year, not next week, and not even tomorrow - but RIGHT NOW." The decision was made. Now came the tough part.
By 8am the next morning, I knew that I was in trouble. Back in 2009, I'd used e-cigarettes, for about a year, but never quit smoking too. I'd only cut down. Because the e-cigs I was using weren't all that hot.
I began researching what had changed since then, and discovered that Walgreens had Blu disposables. I hopped into the car and went there. I picked up three or four (at like ten-bucks per!).
That was then (just a coupla Blu disposables).
This is now.
My right foot remains attached, and there's been not a spec of numbness since. Almost two years later, I was released from the care of a vascular physician, who told me to only call him if I ever decided to put another cigarette into my mouth. That doc, believe it or not, was a smoker. He vapes now.
Thank you, (Blu, V2, ProVape, Gormly/DV & ECF). MANY more contributed, but these five were my Essentials. Without any one of them, I'd almost certainly have never made it through. My right foot, my wallet* and the rest of my body, owe you all more than could ever possibly be repaid.
MANY new friends, some of whom will surely be with me for life. Starting with the wise{xxx} darling who did THIS.
Love ya, Kat.
Just vape, baby (thank you, Al Davis).
