I'm still pretty new to this (started in December), but I feel as though I've came a long way. So here's my story. I started smoking cigarettes shortly after my 18th birthday. I had smoked cigarettes in the years prior to this, but never enough to become addicted. I had a really bad breakup with a girlfriend, and while driving around thinking about things, I thought it would be a good idea to buy a pack of smokes since I was now 18, and just drive around smoking a few. I smoked half a pack that first night. I finished up that pack the next day.

At that point, I thought I was done smoking. I didn't consider myself a smoker, and I didn't want to be one. But for whatever reason, I bought another pack the next day. The rest is history. I smoked every day for the next 14 years. I tried to quit multiple times within the last 5 years. I've tried the patch, the gum, and cold turkey with minimal success. My best quit to date was 2 months. It was enough to get me off nicotine, and I felt great, but I really really missed smoking. I felt like a part of me was gone. I felt an emptiness inside. That is the reason that I went back to smoking.

As stupid as it sounds, I purposely got myself addicted to nicotine again. For the first week, the cigarettes tasted terrible, and the nicotine did nothing for me. But after a week or so, my taste buds were fried again, and i was addicted to nicotine in full force. I had just decided to say screw it and just smoke. It made me happy, even though I knew it was slowly destroying my health.

Last december I saw a BLU commercial on tv. I had seen electronic cigarettes on the news before, but I thought they were a total gimmick. I didn't think they could work. But the BLU commercial is very convincing. I immediately went to their website, and their marketing tricks worked on me. I ordered a BLU premium starter kit that night. I was very excited to start using it. I was actually having dreams about it. The day it came in the mail I was like a kid on Christmas.

At first I thought the BLU was great. I had nothing to compare it to, but I found that my nicotine cravings were non existent while using it. Although the flavor is good, and the vapor was decent for a cigarette sized pv, there was no throat hit. So I kept finding myself going back to regular cigarettes, even though I was smoking about 75% fewer of them. I knew there had to be something better.

I found this site. And I started watching youtube videos. I now have a couple ego c twists, a bunch of cartomizers, 2 clearomizers, and 4 carto tanks, about 20 bottles of juice. I have enough crap to last me 4 months without buying another single item. I've been smoking an analog here and there. Usually one or two a day. But they get worse and worse as time goes by. I think that once this last pack is gone, I won't buy anymore. vaping is better. Better in every way. I'm sold. This invention likely has saved my life.

like someone else said i tried the mistic from walmart last spring.
I hated it. it didnt do anything for me personaly.
then a couple of weeks before black friday i started looking again.
on black friday i ordered a riva set from one place
a lava tube kit from another and juice from somewhere else.
Then i figured out my quit date which was december 13th by the farmers almanac.

All of this to keep a promise i made almost 15 years ago to my kids to quit smoking.
I tried. using the patch and chantix TWICE i smoked while taking it both times,
Then i decided that i need to be around for my 4 grandkids and see all the thigns that i may have missed
with my kids while i was working trying to make enough to raise them.

Now i am happily stinky free and feel alot better for it

Well - I really did not intend to quit smoking. I love smoking and have been smoking over a pack a day for 46 years. I had actually first heard of them a 3 years ago when a friend brought one back from Vegas that he bought in a mall there. It looked like a neat gimick to me - but didn't interest me - since you could not just go to the store to buy the cartridges.

Then last Aug I saw two ladies using them outside a local casino. I only talked briefly with them - but it was enough to get me interested. I retired two years ago and since then I found I was actually increasing the amount that I was smoking - since I had more time to actually smoke. So I started to research and bought the ePuffer Colibri, mainly because it was the actual size of a real cigarette.

Well, other than going too low on the nic - they actually had me down to 3/4 cigarettes a day. I continued to do some research and found ECF and then spent another two weeks reading. Ended up ordering a kit with 2 eGo Twists, some clearomizers and better/stronger juice. By the time my twists arrived - I was already finding that I was enjoying the vaping more than the smoking.

So - I loaded up my CE4 and never had another cigarette. Still amazed - because I still love smoking - being around smokers does not bother me - I just don't feel any urge to actually smoke one. I have been frustrated with leaking clearomizers and dead taste buds and have to remind myself that if I can't taste the ejuice - it is not likely I will be able to taste a cigarette either. So I have just kept on vaping.

I saw a rack of mystic at a local gas station then again saw them at walmart. So we took the plunge. We didnt like the taste of them and dropped them and started smoking again this was before christmas. We ordered two kits 808d from Halo, to start Jan 1 but didnt get them until Jan 2 ( darn post office anyway). The day we started the G6 was the last day of an analog.

Now I have 2 vision 1300 mah spinners on the way in the mail, SO has an ego vv pass thru, and also a couple other 808d elites.
I was up to 20+5 or so analogs a day and smoked for 40 years when I started cigs were 50 cents a pack, my SO was up to almost 2 pad. and had smoked for 26 years.
ECF has been so helpful getting our footing with e-cigs.

I have been smoking for 25+ years. Few years ago I was up to 1 pack a day and slowly narrowed it down to 4-5 a day with help from nic mouth spray/gums/Snus etc. Nothing of those things made me quit 100% how hard I tried I always fell back to smoking.
I was loosing my health quite rapidly, short of breath, started caughing a few nights a week and last few years I tend to swallow "wrongly" and get me to caugh very intence so peaople though I would die! At my age (36) this is not normal in my eyes!
One day my boyfreind saw someone smoking on a "black stick" kind of thing that was called an e-cig on youtube. I was very sceptical and though it was just an other gimmic to get people to spend money to quit and fail doing so. I let it slip and went on smoking for a couple of more years!
So, now about 2+ month ago I stumbled on e-cig again and saw some intresting looking devices and some youtube videos on how well they work to get off analogs. So I started to look around and ordered my 1:st kit that was a simple eGo-t kit and got very surpriced how well it worked and I somehow forgot my analogs and made me quit effortless. Sure I get some cravings now and then, but no where near as bad I had with other "quitting" methods! So here I am, spedning way to much cash on e-cig devices and blings! But I am happy, my boyfriend is happy and my cats are happy! :vapor:

I had quit before using lozenges and was gearing up to do so again when my brother came for a visit and showed me his blu e cig. He had forgotten his charger and needed to pick up some disposables. I tried one and liked it a lot. Then I saw there was an e cig shop near my house so we went there to get him a charger. They didn't have a charger for him but they did have ego twists. I bought one with a kanger t2 and a 30ml of bobas bounty. I've only smoked about 6 analogs since then - nov 2012

To be honest I had given up on ever quitting the smokes and had resigned myself to it. I had tried cold turkey, gum, patch burned my skin, lozenge tasted nasty, never lasted longer than about 2 weeks. Everyone was miserable.
Then last summer, my mom told me she quit using e cigs. I never thought that would happen in my life. I figured if she could do this, then I could too. Started with the ecig in July, had last smoke the end of August.
Now? Don't really even want to be around the smokes. The more I am away from them, the more the smoke smells like a bunch of chemicals. Wild, never noticed that while I smoked.

After seeing the blu commercials a dozen times I thought to myself the least I could do is try one. The next day I stopped at a Walgreens and picked up a blu disposable menthol. I was a bit skeptical at first but seeing as I go outside to smoke and it was pretty cold out I enjoyed being able to just stay inside and "smoke". The taste wasn't great but then again I wasn't really enjoying the taste of analogs any more either.

After a few hours of not going outside to light up I was pretty impressed that I had no urge or want to do so. I was fully content just puffing away on that disposable blu. Even when I woke up the next day and took a few puffs of the blu I still had no urge to go outside for my routine smoke. This is what impressed me as I have a very hard time breaking habits, especially since I've been smoking a PAD for 20 years.

At this time I knew I wanted a starter kit and was close to buying the blu kit. However after a little research I found this site and I'm glad I did. I didn't go for the blu kit but instead I ended up buying the Encore kit from a local cigar shop. I knew it would have been cheaper to shop online but I was pretty excited and wanted to get something asap. The Encore starter kit came with 2 808 batteries, wall / usb charger, and 5 cartos. It cost $50 but it was the best $50 I have ever spent.

This was maybe 3 weeks ago and in that time I've had probably 4 analogs, all within the first few days. Since then I picked up an ego twist, ego mini, a couple t3's, and some different carto's but I have yet to even think about picking up another pack of analogs.

Sorry for the long post but I'm still pretty new to all of this and very excited to finally be able to give up tobacco. :)

I didn't want to give up cigarettes for health reasons, I got tired of paying so much tax money to our corrupt governments both in washington and in illinois and cook county. the taxes on cigarettes is only going to get worse as long as we have the idiot in the white house promoting his health care crap... got me an ego from vapor for life and loving it.

I had realized that smoking would be what killed me if I didn't quit. I'd tried several times and failed due to the cravings and jitters from nicotine withdrawal. I clicked on a pop-up that promised an easy way to quit and watched a video that portrayed a reporter out to uncover a scheme to quit smoking using ecigs. She found that the sample they gave her to try actually resulted in her successful quitting of the habit. It turned out to be a scam where they ask for your credit card and continually send you filled cartos whether you order them or not.

I found ECF and the rest is history. I was lucky enough to get the straight information before falling for a gas station ecig. I bought a Joye 510 and later an eGo. After a period of time vaping, I actually quit and found that there were no withdrawal symptoms. I owe ECF for putting me on the right track to cessation of smoking.

I started ecigs because I could no longer get my clove cigs. Customs started holding them and not even bothering to send me a letter about the hold and I needed/wanted my clove fix. The ones available at the various shops since the ban went into place taste crappy compared to the ones I was mail-ordering.

I had read on these forums about the various clove juices available, so I gave some a try and really liked it. Tried some other flavors and I was hooked. Turns out I like lots of flavors, and clove isn't even in my top 5 :)

Funny... vaping found me... not the other way around.

I feel the same, vaping found me.

A few weeks before Christmas, 2012 my wife casually mentioned that a co-worker was using the Finity disposables. As a result, she wanted to go by the local Walgreens and pick up a disposable to try. While we were there I figured I give it a try, what the hell, it was only $10 and the novelty of it was intriguing.

However, something happened that I never intended, when I used the Finity disposable I noticed I wasn't using analogs. In fact, I really didn't have any urges to use analogs while I was using the Finity. After the original Finity died I went back to Walgreens and picked up another and experienced the same results, no analog urges when using the Finity. After my second Finity died I was in a local gas station and I asked if they had the Finitys, they didn't but they had Blu so I gave it a try. Again, I noticed that when I was using the Blu I wasn't using analogs.

After having three positive experiences I decided I would pick up the Blu starter pack that the gas station had on the shelf. I purchased it, brought it home and I set it up and from that point I haven't touched an analog. It's been nearly 3 weeks and I feel great; no more morning cough and I'm not clearing my throat anymore. We'll see where I am 6 months from now but I suspect that I'm done with analogs. Even though I never intended to quit analogs the opportunity to quit fell in my lap and I embraced it.

One thing that's been stated on this forum (and I agree with it) is that the Blu rechargables are great for 'on-the-go' situations but not very good for a primary device. I've found this to be true so my 2 week old Blu starter kit has been relegated to 'on-the-go' and my brand new Provari 2.5 and IBTanked tank will become my primary device for 'at-home' use.

I'm excited about the opportunity that e-cigs have given me.

I like that other people here have said that they love smoking, like I do. Here's the rest of my story.

I quit smoking cold turkey and was off them for 2 1/2 years, then my wife left me out of the blue so I took up cigs again for comfort. I smoked for maybe 3 months then started buying the gas crappies like Blus, then went to V2cigs, started buying juice, got my eGos and now here I am, early in the morning vaping on ECBlend Soda in a tank while my kid plays Minecraft.

Well I am/was a 20 year pack a day smoker. I really did not want to quit. My kids are in sports and I like to play hockey and baseball with them. Lets be honest smoking and hockey do not work well together (not that smoking and baseball do). My son had a hockey tournament about 4 miles from an ecig establishment that several of my co-workers had purchased their ego kits from. I had some down time between games so my wife and I went in and discussed our situation with a helpful lady. By the time it was said and done we had spent $231 on kits, juice, coils, and the rest a noob would need (the shop is about 1 hour from my home so I wanted to have the things I would need for a few weeks anyways). I have been doing great. That day was the last day I smoked an analog cigarette, granted its only been a month. My wife is doing ok. She has had a cigarette here and there. I seem more determined (I don't like wasting money...so that helps). I decided I needed a Vamo, so that is on its way. I will be honest I did not "quit" anything I just traded one habit for another. My wife asked why I needed the Vamo... I had no real answer other than I wanted it. "we did this to quit smoking and save money" she says... "Consider it my birthday present" I retort. Then I pointed out the 22 Coach purses I purchased her in the last 5 years... Do not work that angle as your argument, it is a bad idea. So I have slowed my roll on the spending and I will buy a few 6ml tanks on the sly.

Everyone keeps asking if my quit was a New Year's resolution since I started (stopped?) in mid-January. In reality, it happened then because that's when my team comes back from the off-season. January rolled around and I was facing my biggest season ever and staying a smoker was going to do nothing but hold me back.

Cold turkey wasn't an option based on previous attempts, and I needed something that was going to be VERY cost effective (Pall Malls are $3.50 a pack here so smoking isn't near the wallet hit as in other places). The gum and patch are prohibitively expensive in comparison and hadn't worked in the past; the gum is some of the nastiest tasting stuff ever and the patch makes me itch. I'd heard too many horror stories for Chantix to even be an option. That left me with ecigs, so the research began.

I think I may be one of the few that didn't start with a disposable or even a cig-a-like. I ordered an eGo-T 650 mAh knockoff kit and got it 1/11. The "tanks" are crap and I figured out how to drip after about an hour :) I smoked an analog here and there for the next 4 days not because I craved them, but to see how they would compare to vaping. They tasted worse and worse so my last one was 1/15. In the mean time there've been no nic fits, no cravings, and only a handful of headaches that were resolved with a big glass of water. I started at 18mg and am now at mostly 12mg juice with the occasional hit of 18mg.

Back in the day, all my friends and co-workers were smokers. We would all sit around and puff away while having coffee, a beer, etc. Even when smoking got pushed outdoors we would find a patio place to squat with our Marlboros and a beverage. Then I quit my job for a different one. Noone smoked with me. Ok fine, friends still smoked. Then, one by one, my girlfriends started dating guys who were anti smoking and they quit smoking. I was the lone renegade smoker. My husband and I went on vacation with another couple and I was the only smoker in the bunch. It was a huge hassle to go outside and smoke while they were all ordering food/waiting in line for theater tickets/etc. I realized how much I missed out on because I was running outside to smoke while everyone else stayed inside. So, I decided when we got home from vacation that I was gonna quit. I had already tried patches, gum, chantix, lozenges......none of them worked before. I had always been curious about the ecigs I saw in the mall, so I went online and did a little research. I ordered a V2 kit online and decided that as soon as it arrived, I was not going to light up another cigarette. 8/22/2010 was the day that I officially smoked my very last cigarette. In October 2010 I discovered ECF, and the rest is history!

The first 48-72 hours were a little difficult, but by the end of day 3 I could be around other smokers and not want to light up. I was amazed at how relatively simple it was to quit. Especially after being a 1.5 PAD for 17 years. And I was the person who always said I would never quit.

I decided to fulfill a New Years resolution before NYE & decided to quit smoking on a whim nearly 3 months ago. I had always kept Nicorette lozenges around, for those long weekends w/the folks where I couldn't smoke. Well, I did the lozenges full bore for 2 weeks & they made me feel crazy. I was staying awake until 3am & had issues waking up on time for work.

In a panic mode I began google searching for local ecig stores, I knew the gas station ecigs would not cut it. Luckily, St. Louis has SupremeNicotine.com kiosks at most local malls. Well, the mall kiosk probably saved me but cost me dearly in that I walked away spending nearly $200 on a simple ego-c starter kit, attachments & a bunch of locally made juices. I knew it was a rip-off, but I needed help & the ego system delivered.

Good luck to anyone attempting to quit. I think ecigs provide a viable & livable alternative. It's so cool to be around a lit cigarette & not want one!
