You know, I might take this study - cough cough ADVERTISEMENT cough cough - a teeny but more seriously if it actually provided some real data to view, didn't mention LOGIC LOGIC LOGIC 42 times and wasn't smattered with a listing of every Fox show Dr. Ablow has ever appeared on, a link to his web site, a reference to his latest book - title in all CAPS no less, and - of course - multiple links to LOGIC E-cig.

As far as actual "release" of the study - perhaps not. At least in the Press Release any link to the actual study is a closely guarded secret.

We all know the magnitude of the effect of these devices. It's only a matter of time before fair-minded research studies show the effect too. With the anticeptic properties of PG, I suspect the next generation will vape on the recommendation of their doctor in order to prevent illness. I see the promised land!:thumb:
Interesting. I use this argument in comments when ANTZ get all self righteous about e vapor. I have seen the research from the 1940s but I have not seen anything on the bacterial and viral content of vapor compared to the very clean people's breath. I know that it is an additive in air conditioning air to reduce the chance of legionnaires disease.
I wonder if Dr K F has any research up his sleeve?

Edit. I just PM'd Dr K F on Facebook. I will post if he replies.

Edit2 . I had a reply..
Hi David.
That would be tricky because normally we have bacteria in our oral cavity which are doing a good job. So, it is very difficult to perform such a study and produce any definitive conclusions about safety.

I may still use my comeback.... The ANTZ are never shy about stretching the truth.

I hope we'll have a link to the actual study soon.

Results like this add to the growing mountain of evidence about ecigs, and let's remember that just because the study was sponsored/funded by an ecig company doesn't mean it isn't valid!

Agreed. However, if a BP funded study came out in opposition to e-cigs, we all would be suspicious of the results and methodology used. By that same token, the ANTZ and many who are on the fence on this issue, will likely dismiss this study simply due to it's financial source.

If CASAA organized an independent study I would be first in line at that "Click to Donate" button.

CASAA did fund an independent study that came out earlier this month:
CASAA: New study confirms that chemicals in electronic cigarettes pose minimal health risk -- PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --

And for anyone who would like to donate to the CASAA research fund, you can use the link below:

It would be very helpful if LOGIC made available Ablow's study findings, as science by press release is not science.

But there's no mention of the study on LOGIC's website.

While Ablow is a fairly well known TV doctor (on Fox News), the scientific and public health communities (including me) won't take his press release seriously unless/until the study is made available (and preferably, published in a peer reviewed health or medical journal).

I fear "peer review" in case means Dr. Ablow gets a guest spot on The Dr. Oz Show.

I would like to take this (alleged) study more seriously - but I can't.

Actually, we can't know that there even was such a study, until/if it's published.* Which is a shame, because it appears to point out what we already know, that ecigs are extremely useful in smoking cessation...

*I like Mr. G's "...science by press release is not science." :thumb:
