At dinners on Saturday nights I offer her a small glass of wine. Yes, I know I am a terrible parent. She always says no way daddy, ewwww.

For what it's worth, I don't think that is bad parenting at all. I think a child that drinks their first alcoholic drink with their parents in a controlled environment are much safer than those that have their first drink on the street with their friends.

In Europe it is not unknown (I don't want to say normal) to see children as young as 12/13 drinking small glasses of wine during meals in public restaurants. It is lawful (at least in the UK and France that I know of)

I've always said that if alcohol was 'discovered' today there is no way it would ever be legalized, but I think if we can introduce our children to it in a responsible manner, they are much less likely to abuse it.

I have no scientific proof of this argument by the way and I am too lazy...I mean busy to find any right now.

Well, as the OP of this thread I am very dissapointed to say the least. Nothing was said on the show today. It was insinuated this morning in that quickie interview that this Dr. Oz would be discussing E Cigs on todays episode. The entire discussion was about E Cigs this morning and he did say that ecigs were a great thing for the older smokers.

I am very very disapointed about this deceptive advertisement for his show. I guess being an American, I should be used to the out and out lies that the media tells on a daily basis.

Sorry everyone..... I feel really bad that many of you wasted an hour to watch this episode.

No worries, I learned everything I ever will need to know about the sound one makes when ...... if one has fibroids (assuming one pees like a musical instrument).

I've learned to wait until I hear from people about things that they have experience using or watching. I taped it for later viewing if I read that it was worth watching :D
I can now delete it and not have to sit through the show.
He may be having an episode later in the season regarding e-cigs. I'm going to pay attention to the descriptions of what the current show is about.

You really need to watch it. You will learn the answer to one of the great questions facing humanity "if you only have 10 seconds is it better to brush your teeth or use mouthwash?"

Pardon my ignorance and self-imposed protection from pop culture, but who is Dr. Oz?

Why he's the smartest bestest product endorsing TV Doc ever! He covers important topics like this!

I did watch it, I no way want you to feel bad. That is unless you took control of my remote, but last I looked it was in my hand. I understand. It wont be the first time I was ever disappointed by a TV teaser. Good effort on your part for a good cause!

Well here is something that may brighten this thread up...

I recently had to have surgery for diverticulitis. They had to remove about 12 inches of my colon.

for about a 2 month period before the surgery I had to get several clearances and tests, and probably met about a dozen doctors along the way.

I made it a point to ask every one of them about e-cigs, and every single one of them said it was a way better than smoking cigarettes. Not just a few, not most, but every one of them.

They may not be Dr Oz or have their own TV show, but they are all doctors and live by the same oath.

:)
