Well, the black patina Nuppin' AFC I bought was short lived being black...:grr: My own fault I guess. When I scotchbrite my stripped grand, I normally just use a piece of painters tape to cover the atty so it doesn't accidentally get scratched, damaged, or dirty. So today I taped my Nuppin' carefully and then proceeded to brush out the finish on the grand, got it looking quite spiffy, then removed the tape!!! About 1/3 of the patina came off with the tape when I peeled it back. Never saw that coming. So now I am vaping a brushed copper AFC on the Nuppin'... Live and learn I guess. Just thought I'd pass the info on so that it may help someone else out. I will say that once I started taking the rest of the black patina off, it all came off without any problem at all. It pretty much just peeled or flaked off the rest of the way. Very fragile I would say... So be careful if you have a Patina'd AFC, door, or mod. It don't take much...:(

Painters tape? I'm quite surprised by that... Send it back & I can take it back 2 black for ya, no charge. I think that was a fluke. My experience with them has been more like Xobeloots

Yeah. I have both blue and green, but the green has less tack to it is why I use that. Live and learn...

Again, I'm still really surprised painters tape took it off, I think it's a fluke. Like I said I'll redo it for you/swap out and give it a painters tape test before I resend. That shouldn't have happened.

I suspect it's because you got the matte finish. That one is new to me, but the glossy have been so solid.

I'm assuming it was also 3M. Actually, the green stuff (2093) has edge lock and has cost me a few paint jobs on metal surfaces. The better choice is the blue ( 2080) which is used for delicate surfaces. Another option is the blue vinyl "fine line" tape that is usually found at any automotive paint supply store. That green stuff can be a real bummer for sure.

Got my #9 yesterday... just gorgeous! Glad I ordered the one I liked best rather than the one I thought would match... I have to move my attys around now anyway, and I think this will look amazing on just about anything.
Thanks Mark! Hope your Tuesday is better than your Monday (mine sucked as well :glare:)
